Fort Myers Turkey Trot 5K

The Fort Myers Track Club in partner with the Edison and Ford Winter Estates is hosting our 47th Annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk. The NEW 5K COURSE will start and McGregor Blvd. and end on the Edison and Ford Winter Estates. For years this fun-filled family event has been an annual tradition for locals and visitors alike, hosting thousands of visitors from over 42 states in the 2025 event. This event and beautiful location are a great way to kick off the Thanksgiving Holiday. 

REGISTRATION FEES* (No Race Day Registration)

Adult: $40 thru Sept 30, 2026, $40 from October 1- November 25, 2026

Youth: $20 thru September 30, 2026| $25 October 1-november 25, 2026

Tot Trot: $10 (100yd dash) 6 & Under

The deadline to register online and be guaranteed a shirt size is November 01, 2026. Shirts will be available for the first 4000 registered participants. An inventory is set for all shirt sizes, once your shirt size is selected, there will be NO EXCHANGE in size. Two things that will ensure you receive your shirt and size choice: (1) DO NO WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO REGISTER (2) PLAN TO ATTEND AN EARLY PACKET PICK-UP.  Shirts are unisex sizing. There is a specific inventory of shirts, once this runs out, participants must choose another size.

Entry fee is discounted 20% for all Fort Myers Track Club Members.

• All volunteers, staff, and participants will comply with recommended CDC social distancing guidelines and non-vaccinated individuals should wear a mask when unable to socially distance.
• Runners and walkers have agreed during registration process that they will not participate if they are experiencing Covid-19 symptoms within 14 days of the event and understand that they may transfer to the virtual event or defer to the 2022 event. Otherwise, the event fee is non-refundable.
• High risk individuals are asked not to participate in-person and should choose the virtual 5K option.
• Live Results & Awards will be available onsite. Race organizers may choose to suspend presentation of awards should participants choose not to practice social distancing guidelines.
• Packet pick-up will run for each of 3 days prior to the race to space out the runners coming into the packet pick up facility. If you have a group, please designate one individual to pick-up if possible. Large groups should send race organizers a list of their group prior to the packet pick-up. • Portable toilets and hand-wash stations will be available pre & post-race.
• Hand sanitizer will also be available at packet pick-up/staging tent area.
• Bottled water only will be available at the water-stop & finish line. However, participants are encouraged to bring their own means of hydration for the course.
• Spectators/Non-Participants are asked not to crowd the Start of Finish areas and are required to wear masks if unvaccinated and follow social distancing guidelines.

I acknowledge that registration fees are non-transferable and *non-refundable.

Participants may create or join a team. Teams are for social purposes and will not be scored, but we would love to see how large these groups get. Top 3 teams will be recognized at the start of the race and in race communications following the event.

• When you have received 5 referrals and friends & family register by utilizing your unique URL, you will receive $20 credited back. An additional 5 referrals will result in a full refund of your individual registration.

The Charities

Edison and Ford Winter Estates

The non-profit corporation, the Thomas Edison & Henry Ford Estates, Inc. governs and manages both the Edison and Ford estates for the City of Fort Myers which has owned the Edison property since 1947 and the Ford property since 1988. These original historic properties consist of 18 acres containing botanical gardens and 19 buildings. The corporation is designated as a 501(3) non-profit charitable educational organization. The properties are listed on the National Historic Register, the Historic Florida Landmark, the National Chemical Landmark, and an original Save America’s Treasures of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

This event will be timed with the ChronoTrack Bib Tag Technology. Your Timing Strip is attached to your race number.  Do not remove this tag, fold or wrinkle your race number. Do not cover your race number (Tag) with a jacket.  Simply pin all four corners to the front of your running shirt.

Unregistered participants, unauthorized vehicles, bicycles, roller blades, skates, skateboards, strollers and pets are strictly prohibited.  Baby joggers are allowed but participants must start and remain at the back of the runners/walkers, thereby not interfering (passing, swerving between) with the other participants.

Temperatures/humidity can be high in South Florida. Participants should drink plenty of fluid (non-alcoholic) for 48 hours prior to, during and upon finishing the race. Beware of heat-injury symptoms (dizziness, no sweating, nausea, cramps, redness, incoherent speech and thoughts). Seek immediate assistance if symptoms occur. Wear loose, light-colored clothing.
