Gee Haw, GLOW Back! 5K

The ABAC Cross Country team, along with the Athletic Training Department, is hosting a glow walk/run for the campus and the community. The race is open to amateurs and competitors of all ages - whether this is your first 5k or your fiftieth. This is a judgement-free zone and we are honored that you decided to spend the evening with us! The first 200 registered finishers will receive a medal at the finish line.

Join us for an unforgettably fun night! Starting at 7:30 PM, the gym will open for pre-race activities. The official race begins at 8:30 PM. Follow the ABAC Cross Country page on Facebook and Instagram for more announcements regarding this event in the coming weeks.

Please note that this event has a no refund policy. Your safety is our top concern. In the event we have to cancel due to the weather, there will be no refunds.

Parking: All participants and observers should park in ABAC's South Parking Lot (campus map). The first few rows closest to the gym will be designated for event parking. Someone will be there to direct you. Please note that the designated parking will be closed off at 8:00PM. Those first few rows are included in the beginning of the course, so they will be closed off then for your safety. If you show up after 8:00PM, consider the longer walk/run your warmup!

Check-In: There will be a check-in table in Gressette Gym (1 on the campus map) available beginning at 7:30PM. This is where you will receive your bib and sign the participation waiver. Nobody will be allowed to check in after 8:15PM. This should be fun for everyone. We want you to allow yourself ample time to get here and stretch without being stressed or strapped for time.
 
Awards: Each registered finisher will earn their medal when they cross the finish line! We might be biased, but we think the medals are pretty awesome 😎 We will also have a medal attachment that will be awarded to overall 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place. While we hope to offer more awards per age group in the future, we just didn't know what to expect for our first race and felt this was a good start. 
 
Raffle: Interested in learning more about recovery equipment? Stop by the Athletic Training Department table to learn more AND enter the raffle for the Venom Go by Hyperice valued at $120! Tickets are $5! The proceeds go directly to the Athletic Training Department for equipment/materials that support the care of all athletes.
 
Water Stations: We will have two water stations for your convenience. One will be stationed at Mile 2 on the course map and another at the finish line.
 
Pictures: ABAC's very own, Studio 3, will be taking photos and videos to capture our event! These memories will be made available to all participants within a week of the race. Additional details regarding this will be sent out at a later time.   
 
Pre-Race Party: Mentioned in our race description, the optional pre-race party details are ready! It only felt right to have some sort of celebration for hosting our first ever 5k. What is a glow run at night without a little bit of hype? Join us before the race starting at 7:30PM for pictures, glow gear, and more! 

Welcome to ABAC! Starting and finishing right outside the gym, this course is entirely on campus and highlights major campus landmarks including the athletic fields, Rodeo Arena, Lake Baldwin, the cow pasture, ABAC Chapel, and the front circle where ABAC began in 1908. 

Although mostly paved, the course does feature sections of gravel, dirt, and grass.

Registered participants that complete the race will earn a medal (pictured below) at the finish line!
