Georgia Southern True Blue 5K & Abbie's Adventure Race

Join a long-running Homecoming tradition with Georgia Southern and Abbie DeLoach Foundation in one of Statesboro’s biggest 5K events!

Q: Do I have to be in Georgia/From Georgia to do this event?

A: No you do not have to be in or from GA to do this, anyone in the world can do this event!

Q: I chose to pick up my packet. When do I do this?

A: Once you sign up and choose the pick-up option, your packet will be curated and you will receive an email when it is ready to be picked up. Please understand due to a few factors your packet may not be ready immediately.

Q: I chose to have my packet shipped to me, when will I receive it?

A: Once you sign up and choose the mail option, your packet will be curated and will be sent to you. Please understand due a few factors your packet may not be ready immediately.

Q: I just want to run and I don’t need the shirt and medal, can I do that?

A: Absolutely! Simply select the option to donate your race fee.

Q: How do I record my miles?

A: You will record your race using the RaceJoy APP.

Q: Do I have to run or can I walk?

A: you can Run, Walk, Run/walk, any way you can to get the miles. It's your challenge, as long as you are purposefully moving, it counts.

Q: Do I have to run/walk outside?

A: You can run anywhere! That being said the RaceJoy app uses GPS to map your race and record your time so an outdoor run may be best!

Q: Do have to complete the race on October 19th?

A: No, you can complete the race at any point before.

Q: Is there a planned course?

A: You can complete the race ANYWHERE! That being said, we will have an outlined race course through the Georgia Southern campus for those who are able to run in Statesboro.

You can then easily share your bib on social media or print to post on a wall as a self motivator as you complete the challenge (your real bib will be in your SWAG packet).

This year's TRUE BLUE 5K is going virtual. Let's come together as a community while staying apart!

Here is how it works...

Step 1. Register to run/walk the virtual 5K - wherever you are! Don't forget to invite your friends to join!

Step 2. Your race swag will be delivered to your door via USPS starting in the first week of November! Shipping is included and you will receive email with tracking # as soon as your items are shipped!

Step 3. Run/walk the distance on your own, using our RaceJoy app or one of your other favorites to track your time and distance! Then, submit your time to be added to the True Blue 5K results leader board. Post a picture of your run to Facebook or Instagram using #TrueBlue5K

Step 4: You did it! Celebrate and enjoy yourself!

You will have two options to submit your results!  

1. Download the RaceJoy App and follow instructions to start your tracking. When you cross the 5K *virtual* finish line your results will automatically be submitted!
2. Use your smart watch or favorite running app to time yourself over 5K then you will be logging your miles directly into the RunSignUp System.  You will get an email with instructions for you to upload directly with your unique link on the morning of November 1st!  If you do not get the email, you can follow the below instructions. You will only be able to enter data from 11/1/2020 through 11/30/2020.  If you are having any trouble, please contact: events@runnersfit.com

• Click SUBMIT VIRTUAL RESULTS

If you are not logged into your RunSignUp account you will be required to enter your email or last 4 digits of phone number you used for registration to verify yourself.  Once on the Log Activities page you can ENTER YOUR TIME and then SUBMIT YOUR TIME.

The True Blue 5K is all about showing your TRUE BLUE pride!  Traditionally held during homecoming, this 5K is the perfect opportunity to experience the gorgeous scenery of Georgia Southern University’s campus.

The 2020 race is sponsored by The Abbie DeLoach Foundation. 

While at GSU, Abbie joined the Kappa Delta Sorority, a legacy she shared with her mother. Her leadership skills shined amongst this lovely group of women as she was the Recommendation Chairman, a member of the homecoming step team, she played many intramural sports, and was on the championship intramural basketball team for Kappa Delta. She was a Junior in the Nursing program when her and 4 fellow nursing students were killed on their way to their last clinical rotation in Savannah. We hope you will join us in honoring Abbie’s legacy at the True Blue 5K. • Awards will be given for top finishers in each age group!
• First 400 registrants receive finisher medal!
• T-Shirts guaranteed to the first 300 5K registrants.
• Online registration closes at 5:00pm on Friday, November 6th. Race day registration opens at 6:30am on Saturday.
• The Abbie DeLoach Foundation will donate $1,000 to the student organization or their philanthropy for registering the largest number of participants.
• Homecoming Points:  You must have at least 10 participants to receive the participation points and must have registered by November 6th by 5:00pm.

The True Blue 5K is all about showing your TRUE BLUE pride!  This race is a truly unique experience that takes runners through Paulson Stadium. Kick off homecoming right and come run, jog ,or walk your way through our beautiful campus and let your True Blue pride shine! We had so much fun seeing the True Blue pride from Georgia to California and all the way to Japan that we decided to offer Virtual race registration again for those eagles that cannot participate in Statesboro! Race Day registration will only be open from 7:00 AM to 7:30 AM!

Abbie’s Adventure Race is a fun spin on the typical 5K race! The race will consist of a 5K course with various mental, physical and fun challenges spread throughout. Walk or run, this race is for anyone looking for a unique and exciting way to participate in Homecoming events! So grab a partner, sign up and get ready for an adventure!
