Glow All Out 5K Glow Run

Get ready to light up the night and have a blast with family and friends at our inaugural Glow All Out 5K! Join us as we make our way through the Evendale/Byrd campus, creating memories and laughter with every step. This untimed event will rally support for the local organization Bright Futures, ensuring brighter prospects for our community's youth. Join us for an evening filled with fun family activities, a DJ and delicious bites from food trucks - Donut Dive and Kona Ice!

**Parking** - Roads will close at 7:45 PM and will not reopen until ~9:30 PM for participant safety. Participants will not be able to leave the campus until roads reopen. Feel free to enjoy the music, sweet treats and cheer on everyone as they finish the race!

Race Shirts: Deadline to guarantee a race T-shirt (and your size) is June 14, 2025 (then will be until supplies last at packet pickup). 

Awards
Glow Medals will be awarded to first 350 5K finishers. No age group awards will be provided.

Tot Trot: 
At approximately 8:00 pm, we will have our youngest athletes take the track for a 100m dash! All 100 Yard Dash finishers will receive a ribbon of completion. Tot Trot participant registration does not include a T-shirt.

What are the event start times?
Kids 100 Dash (2-5 years old): ~8:00 p.m.
5K - ~8:30 p.m.

Will the races be timed?
The Glow All Out 5K is not a timed event. We suggest self-timing for anyone desiring a finish time. Our course is very flat and fast, so you can definitely share your time with your Strava friends! We will still issue bibs for safety purposes.

Will there be overall/age group awards?
Nope. There are plenty of more serious races out there to test your speed and performance. Our main goal is to light up the night with friends and family. You can run or walk, however you would like!

What do I get for my entry fee?

• Short sleeve race T-shirt (only guaranteed if you register before June 14).

Will there be hydration on the course? 
Yes, Water will be located near the church and at the start/finish area.

What are the age limits for each race? 
Kids Dash – 5 and under
Glow Run 5K – you must be 6 years old.

Where can I pick up my race packet? 
Runners can pick up race packets on Race Day, July 18 from 6:30-8 p.m.

Can someone else pick up my items for me?
Yes!

Can someone else run with my race bib? 
For the safety and security of all our runners, people are not permitted to run with someone else’s race bib.

Will spectators be allowed to view the finish?
Yes, there will be plenty of places along the course and at the finish to cheer on your family or friends.

Are is there race time limits?
The 5K course limit is 1 hour 15 minutes.

Are headphones, strollers or pets allowed during the race?
We follow Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) recommendations that strongly advise against allowing strollers, dogs and headphones at races. Unlike running alone with a stroller or headphones, races often involve hundreds of runners. Races run on roads sometimes open to minimal traffic with road hazards such as potholes, loose gravel, blind turns, and given that this is the Shenandoah Valley, major hills. While Frederick County Parks and Recreation tries to make our race courses as safe as possible through good course management, marshaling, and marking, we believe that runners have a responsibility for their own safety and the safety of the runners around them.

What time should I arrive on race day? 
Please arrive early to find parking, pick up your swag and get ready to run! The roads will close at 8:10 p.m. and will not reopen until our last runners make the turn to head behind Byrd Middle School.

Where can we park for the races?
Parking is available at Byrd Middle School and Evendale Elementary School. Please be courteous and follow instructions from Parking Volunteers.

Through various programs and initiatives, Bright Futures provides essential resources, such as school supplies, clothing, food assistance, and access to extracurricular activities, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
