Come together for the grooviest race in Tampa Bay! Events include a 10K and 5K Run, 1-mile Walk, Woof & Roll pet run, and even a Flower Child Fun Run for the young hippies!
The Grooviest excuse to party Race in Tampa Bay is held along Safety Harbor's fun and funky waterfront!
Enjoy free food and a post-race party! The grooviest 1960s music! Vintage VWs on display!
We'll also be hosting costume contests with prizes for best dressed "grown-up" Hippie, Flower Child, and Doggie - so wear your Hippie Threads!

FAQs
Is the Hippie Dash a fundraiser? Yes, disguised as major fun! All Hippie Dash proceeds from race registrations and optional donations will benefit Goodwill-Suncoast's programs for people with barriers to self-sufficiency. Right on!
When does registration close for all races? Online registration will close race morning, May 9, 2026. Later registrations will be accepted during packet pick-up and on race day morning. However, we can't guarantee you'll get the right t-shirt size if you register late.
What do I get for registering? Everyone who registers will receive a Hippie Dash t-shirt and a medal after finishing the race, along with some other goodies. You'll also get a very good time with great memories, man!
Is there a post-race party? Of course, man! Hippies like to party! After your race just stroll over to Safety Harbor's waterfront park for free munchies, awards ceremony, costume contests and a display of vintage VWs.
Can I bring my dog? Yes, Power to the Pooches! Dogs are ONLY allowed in the 1-Mile Walk, Woof & Roll. Be sure to dress your doggie(s) up for a chance to win the Doggie Costume Contest! We'll supply the water bowls!
Are strollers allowed? Yes, you can push your flower children around while you run (or walk) any of the race distances, but you will be placed at the back of the crowd to give the stroller-less hippies room!
Can I wear headphones in the race? Yes, and we highly recommend 60's jams.
Can I run with a team? Yes! Your vibe attracts your tribe, and your tribe can create its own team name and runners can add themselves to the team when registering. We will be awarding a prize to the BIGGEST team.
Does it cost more to create or join a team? NOPE. No extra fees or fuss, but lots of extra fun!
Will you have awards for high-achieving hippies? Yes! There will be 1st, 2nd & 3rd place awards for each age group!
If I'm unable to make it race day, can I get a refund? No refunds are allowed, but you can switch your registration to "Run from Homel" and still receive your t-shirt and medal in the mail. Just contact the race director with your request.
What is downtown Safety Harbor like? The community of Safety Harbor is the perfect breezy waterfront venue for the Hippie Dash! It's laid-back, funky, and located on the bay. After the race you can enjoy the beach, great restaurants and bars and lots of locally-owned shops.
Where do I park? There is lots of free parking near the race start, and on the neighborhood streets.

This is the part where you get your groovy t-shirt, race bib and goodies - bring our ID!
Wednesday, May 6, 3pm to 6pm, inside the Goodwill store at 10596 Gandy Blvd, St. Pete
Thursday, May 7, 3pm to 6pm, inside the Goodwill store at 3929 Tampa Road, Oldsmar
If you can’t make it those days, no problem, man! Look for the registration tent on race day, which will open at 6am.
Picking up a friend’s packet? You must bring a photocopy or text photo of their driver’s license!
Race morning packet pick-up could have some lines! If you're local, please avoid the lines by coming out and getting your t-shirt, bib and other goodies during packet pick-up in the Goodwill stores.
