About HerrinFesta Road Races
The Herrinfesta Road Races has a long history of families and friends coming together on Memorial Day to have fun, to suffer in the heat for a few miles. If you have never ran it before then you should come join us for a really fun time. With one of the fastest courses around, runners can come to Herrin and shoot for a new PR. This is a family friendly event with a few race options. The 10k run, the 5K walk, the Park Avenue Mile, and the kids mile. Ambitious runners can even sign up for both the 10k and the mile.
Packet Pickup and Race Day Info.
Monday morning packet pickup is always busy so if you can manage to pick up your packet on the Sunday Night before from 4-6pm that would be great.
Packet pick up for all races is Sunday 4-6pm and Monday from 6-7:15am at the Herrin Civic Center. 101 S 16th St, Herrin, IL 62948
10k Race Start is at 7:30am in front of Banterra Bank on Park Avenue. 318 S Park Ave, Herrin, IL 62948. This is a .2 mile walk from packet pickup.
5k Walk Start is at 7:45am At Herrin City Hall(Herrin Water Department on Maps) 300 N Park Ave C, Herrin, IL 62948. A .3 mile walk from packet pickup.
Park Avenue Mile Start is at 9:30am and the Kids Fun Run is at 9:33am. The start time is floating this year because in 2019 the first mile finishers came across the finish line as the Doughboy Ceremony was coming to a close. When that ceremony concludes, the mile will start. Both start at South Side Lumber. 1300 S Park Ave, Herrin, IL 62948.
PARKING: There is plenty of parking in Downtown Herrin but it’s a bit spread out. The best parking is at the Bank of Herrin. 101 S Park Ave, Herrin, IL 62948 It’s the lot east of the Civic Center. Once that fills up there are a couple parking lots around Banterra Bank and Herrin Water Dept.
