Historic Bethlehem Turkey Trot 5K & Fun Walk

Did you gobble till you wobble? Work off that big meal by running into the holiday season with your friends and family at Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites’ annual Turkey Trot. Runners, walkers and even the family pup enjoy participating in this fan-favorite event! 

This 5K course through Bethlehem’s Historic District and the Moravian Church Settlements–Bethlehem World Heritage Site challenges runners and competitive walkers, while a 1.7-mile fun walk and Pet Costume Contest round out the exciting day.

Highlights

• Expanded youth age groups (M, F)! Ages Up to-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-15 
• Use code NOSHIRT to save $2 off your registration if you do not want a race shirt. Code is valid only until November 12.
• "Holiday Spirit" Race Attire awards! Show your holiday spirit with creative race attire. Prizes to Most Spirited Individual and Most Spirited Group! See if you can impress Santa! Must be a registered race participant to qualify. Advance contest registration not required.

Please refer to the Bethlehem Parking Authority for available race day parking. Note that the Spring Street lot is not available for race participants.

Pet Costume Contest registration is FREE but human owners must be registered Turkey Trot participants.

Contestants assemble at 8:15 am at the stage, judging begins a 8:30 am.

ARE DOGS/STROLLERS ALLOWED?

• Yes! Strollers and family-friendly dogs on leash are welcome in the Fun Walk. Please bring pick-up bags for any messes.

IS THERE A RAIN DATE?

• No. We hold Turkey Trot rain or shine.

CAN SOMEONE ELSE PICK UP MY BIB?

• Yes. They will just need your name or registration number.

WHERE DO I PARK?

ARE THERE WATER STOPS?

• Water will be available for FREE to all registered Turkey Trotters at the Luckenbach Mill.

IS THERE FIRST AID?

• We will have a First Aid available at the Luckenbach Mill and on the corner of Main Street and West Lehigh Street.

IS THERE AN AGE MINIMUM FOR CHILDREN?

• We do not have a minimum age for children to participate.

CAN I DRESS IN COSTUME FOR TURKEY TROT?

• Yes! And this year there are prizes for "Most Spirited Race Attire" for individuals and groups! You must be registered for one of the race categories in order to participate in this contest.

DO I HAVE TO BE REGISTERED FOR A RACE TO ENTER MY DOG IN THE BEST PET COSTUME CONTEST?

• Yes. Only participants registered for one of the Turkey Trot categories (run/competitive walk/fun walk) may register their dog for the Best Pet Costume Contest. Dogs may only participate in the Fun Walk and not in the competitive categories.

WHEN DOES REGISTRATION CLOSE?

• Online registration is available right up until race day.

WHICH CATEGORY SHOULD I SIGN UP FOR IF I PLAN TO WALK/RUN THE TURKEY TROT 5K?

• If you plan to do any running during the 5K you must register for the run, not the walk. This includes interval runners. The competitive walking category is for participants that will be walking only.

WHAT IS COMPETITIVE WALKING?

• Those registered for the Competitive Walking category will walk the entire 5K course. Walking is defined as keeping one foot on the ground at all times with your front leg remaining straight as your foot lands and comes under you.

WHERE DO I GET MY RACE RESULTS?

CAN I VOLUNTEER TO HELP WITH TURKEY TROT?

• Absolutely! We have many Volunteer opportunities at the event and it’s a great way to get friends and family involved. Volunteer inquiries can be sent to Beth Beatty at bbeatty@historicbethlehem.org.

I REGISTERED FOR THE RACE AND CAN NO LONGER ATTEND, CAN I GET A REFUND?

• Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable. Your registration fee helps us in our mission to support, preserve, and share over 275 years of history, 20 historic sites, and 70,000+ artifacts that tell the story of Bethlehem’s heritage.

HOW DO I VIEW THE HOLIDAY DINNER ART EXHIBITION?

• The exhibition will be open to view on the second floor of the Luckenbach Mill the morning of the race from 8am - 11am.
