What’s the age requirement to register for this race?

• We ask that if you are participating in the half marathon you be at least 13 years of age on race day.  There is no age requirement for the 10k and 5k.  

Will you send me a confirmation?

• All registrations will receive confirmation via e-mail. 

I didn’t receive my confirmation e-mail, how can I make sure I’m registered?

I can no longer participate in the race (injury, scheduling conflict, etc.), what are the Hermes refund/transfer policies for the race?

If I’m unable to attend and already registered, can I still get my shirt?

• Yes, you can pick up your shirt at our office the following week - we do not mail shirts unless otherwise stated.  Please call the office ahead of time to let us know you are coming at 216-623-9933.

On my registration, I misspelled my name, age, I’ve recently moved, etc.  How can I fix this?

PACKET PICK-UP INFORMATION

If I’m pre-registered, do I need to bring identification to packet pick up?

• It is not required, but it’s always a good idea to bring it.

Am I required to pick up my race bib and shirt at packet pick-up?

• We highly recommend that you pick up your bib and shirt at the packet pick-up you choose, however, your bib and shirt will also be available at early packet pick-up on race day as well.

Can someone else pick up my race bib and shirt?

• Yes, both can be picked up by/for family and friends.  It’s always a good idea to bring your confirmation e-mail.

 

RESULTS / AWARDS

How is this race timed?

• This race is an officially timed event using the disposable My Laps BibTag timing system.  Timing chips are attached directly to the back of your bib number and are to remain adhered to for the duration of the event.

Where can I see my results?

• Results will be posted directly after the race on this website. Click on the Results tab to see your results. You may need to refresh your browser to view it.

When will the results be posted?

• Official results will be posted online in real-time

What do I do if my results are incorrect or missing?

• After the results have been officially posted, please contact Hermes at 216-623-9933 or e-mail roadracing@hermescleveland.com with any concerns.

Does this race provide any kind of awards for each race?

• Yes, we will have awards for the Top 3 Overall Male and Female runners, and 3-deep Male and Female in the following age groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 and over

• The Overall award winners will be announced on race morning. All age group award winners must go to the awards tent to claim their prize.

I could not pick up my award on race day, how can I get my award?

• You can pick up the awards 30 days after the race at the Hermes office located at 2425 W. 11th Street, Suite #2 Cleveland, Ohio 44113

• We do NOT mail awards

 

COURSE QUESTIONS

Where can I park on the morning of the race?

Parking is available near Hofbräuhaus Cleveland, surrounding lots, & street meters are free on the weekends.
*Hermes Sports & Events is not responsible for any parking infractions or tickets*

Do I have to run the race or can I walk instead?

You may walk the course. You may be asked to use the sidewalk for safety reasons. 

What is the time limit for the half marathon?

3.5 hours is the time limit to finish the half marathon race.

Where is/are the water stop(s)?

There are water stops every 2 miles along the route for each event. There 6 water stops spread throughout the half-marathon course. Gels and Gatorade are at mile 6 and 8 water stops.

Are there portable restrooms along the course?

Yes, for the half marathon only

Where can spectators, friends, and family watch on the course?  Can they be at the start or finish areas?

You can view your favorite runner from many areas on the course. Please see the course maps to find a great location.

Can I wear headphones on the course?

• Yes, you can.

Am I able to bring my dog to the race?

• No, we do not allow dogs in the half marathon, 10K, or 5K for this event. 

• Dogs are also not allowed into the after-party.

Am I able to push a stroller in the race?

• Yes, we do allow strollers to be pushed in the race. We ask that you start the race near the back.

Can I volunteer for the race? 

• Hurt, and can't run, just not a runner... but want to be involved in the most festive race in Northeast Ohio? Join us as a volunteer and help bring a smile to a runner's face. Volunteers receive a beer (if 21 or older) and a brat after their shift is over.

Is there a bag check?

• Yes, it will be located in a tent near registration. Please bring a bag that is clear or the inside is visible and it is marked with your name and general information.

Packet Pickup FAQ's
Family and friends are able to pick up for each other, but they should consider bringing a copy of their confirmation email.
Please email roadracing@hermescleveland.com if you will be picking up for a larger group (over 5 packets) with the names registered and the location you will be picking up at. Hermes will pre-pack them for a speedier checkout!

The last day to add packet mailing ($10) or race day packet pickup ($5) is July 16  – this option is offered during the online registration process.

Race Day Schedule

• 6:00AM - Registration and packet pick-up begin

• 7:00AM - Half Marathon starts (3.5 hour time limit)

• 8:00AM - 5K and 10K races start

• 10:30AM - Course is closed and Chester is re-opened to traffic.

• Race starts and finishes on Chester Avenue near the Hofbrauhaus.

Participants receive a race bib number with a timing tag on the back that must be worn on race day! Please do not alter the bib in any way and to be sure the bib is accurately tracked, runners should wear their bib on the front outermost layer of clothing. 
Bibs must be worn by the registrant to whom they have been assigned.

 

As a team of runners, we understand issues come up, especially during endurance training. 
We do our best to accommodate various needs and will continue to make efforts to provide the best possible options for each participant.
The Hofbrauhaus Half, 10k, and 5k implement capped pricing at fair market value up until 1-day before the race to allow participants to register at their discretion.

TO TRANSFER
Runners have three generous options under the "transfer umbrella". 
Runners can transfer 1) to virtual, 2) to another runner, or 3) to another pre-selected Hermes-owned race later in the year. 

1. To Virtual:
Run the race on your own time and at your preferred location and submit results online anytime before August 29, 2024.

2. To Another Runner:
This is a free complimentary option offered by Hermes and can be done anytime before the final packet pickup. There are no exceptions to this.
This process must be completed through the RunSignUp online transfer platform.

Runners are NOT allowed to simply give their bib to someone without following the online transfer process.
 If you are found to have given your bib to someone else without following the online transfer steps or communicating with a Hermes staff member, you will be disqualified from future races.

3. To Another Upcoming Hermes Event: 
Hermes Sports provides a complimentary option to transfer your entry into one of the listed races below - by 7/28.
After July 28 this option will no longer be available and there are no exceptions to this policy.
Qualified transfer race options include: (The River Run Half Marathon).

TO DEFER
You can defer your entry into the 2025 Hofbrauhaus race for an additional $15 good until 7/28. No deferrals will be accepted after this date. 
No deferrals are offered for the 2026 event.

Athletes who become pregnant or are 24 weeks postpartum may receive a 2-year deferral option.

TO REFUND
Similar to a concert ticket, airplane ticket, or any other live event ticket, refunds are not allowed.

 

2024 Registration Info and Fees
The earlier you commit to running or walking the Hofbrauhaus Half Marathon, 10k or 5k, the lower your registration fee will be.

Tiered pricing is in place to support participants who register early with caps built into each block. 

Once each tier is sold out, prices are automatically bumped until Tier 3.

Hofbrauhaus Virtual Run Options

Can't make it to the in-person race but REALLY want the shirt and finisher medal? Simply register to participate and join us, virtually, to complete the 5K, 10K or half marathon races on your own.  Run or walk, outdoors or on a treadmill – you choose!
