Holy Halloween! 5K & 1 Mile "Fun" Run/Walk

Join us for CCA's annual Run to Serve - Holy Halloween! 5K and 1-mile "Fun" Run/Walk on Saturday, October 17th, 8:30 AM at Blackburn Park - Main Pavilion in Brookhaven, GA! This spooktacular event is open to all levels of runners and walkers - including beginners! 

Costumes are encouraged but not required! The Top Costume Award will be given to the three most festive participants! Browse the other Awards we will present during our awards ceremony.


Invite your friends to join you at the Holy Halloween! 5K & 1 Mile "Fun" Run/Walk. Join a team comprised of neighbors, schoolmates, colleagues, or fellow church members!  If you get 5 friends to sign up using your special referral link you'll receive when you register, you will receive a refund of up to $20.00 as our Thank You!

100% of your entrance fee will go towards supporting vulnerable and at-risk families who are a part of Catholic Charities Atlanta's programs and services.

5K Course:

The 5K is a USATF Certified Course, so you can use your time for seeding in the Northside Hospital Peachtree Road Race.

• Highest Participation Awards from these categories: Company, School, Parish/Church, and Social Group (families, friends, neighbors, etc.) - Participants must be registered as a group or team. 
  
  

• The St. Sebastian Award will be awarded to the fastest Catholic School elementary student (1 mile), fastest Catholic School middle school student (5K), as well as to the Catholic School and Parish with the most attendees!
  
  

• Top Costumes (3) In order to be eligible you must be registered for the event.

This 5K is certified- GA certification code GA 19902WC. Professionally timed by Zack Loggins of Runner's Fit Race Works.

Expected number of participants: 400+

Audience: We welcome runners and walkers of all abilities and faiths. Local, private, and public elementary and middle schools, as well as their families, will be targeted. Additionally, we are reaching out to the vibrant communities of Metro Atlanta, as well as local running and walking groups, and everyone who shares a love for Halloween!

100% of Race Proceeds will support programming and services for vulnerable and at-risk families served by Catholic Charities Atlanta.

Free parking is available in Blackburn Park. The address is: 3493 Ashford Dunwoody Road, Brookhaven, GA 30319.  

Volunteers: Park at the Playground parking area.
Runners: You may also park at the Playground lot (if space allows) or use the Blackburn Tennis Courts entrance.
Additional parking: YMCA and Publix parking lots, or as a last resort, Marist School (a short walk up Ashford Dunwoody).
 

• Race number pick up is available starting at 7 am on race morning at Blackburn Park.

• Pre-race number pick up (optional) will take place at these locations.

• During number pickup at both locations and on race morning, we will be collecting diapers (especially sizes 3-6), potty training diapers, and baby wipes to support our families (optional)

What is a Virtual Race? 

A virtual option for a 5K or 1 Mile “Fun” Run/Walk means that participants can use a course of their choice, on the date and time of their choice, to cover the distance of the 5K event or 1 Mile “Fun” Run/Walk and receive the same T-shirt and medal as if doing the actual event.  Each registered person will receive their T-shirt and medal (5K) or T-shirt and ribbon (1 mile) in the mail. A virtual option allows individuals in different locations to compete in the same event and support one another.  If virtual participants "Join a Team" their participation will be counted towards their team's final participation numbers. 

7:00 AM - Number Pickup begins
8:30 AM - 5K Start Time
8:45 AM - First 5K finishers arrive, DJ plays music, Halloween activities begin (face-painting, cookie decorating, pumpkin painting)
9:00 AM - 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk (untimed) Start Time 
9:30 AM - Awards  - Teams, schools and costume contests
