Hot Dog Hustle 5K

The Hot Dog Hustle Fun Run and Walk is held at the Renton Community Center Campus. Runners and walkers travel along the paved beautiful Cedar River Trail before looping back to the Community Center Campus. At the end, participants can enjoy FREE HOT DOGS as we celebrate Independence Day, along with the City of Renton’s 125th anniversary.

Competitive runners, fun runners, walkers, and families (with or without) dogs are all invited to this annual event. Accurate and professional chip timing is provided by Negative Split. If registered before 9:00AM on Wednesday, June 17, participants will receive a Hot Dog Hustle 5K t-shirt.

Race Bib Number Pick Up:
If you have pre-registered, you may pick up your race bib and shirt (if applicable) at The Renton Community Center, 1715 Maple Valley Hwy. Renton, 98057, Thursday, July 2, 9:30AM – 5:00PM. If you are picking up for family members or friends, you will need their race day registration confirmation. You also can pick up your race bib and shirt onsite the morning of the race. 

Race Guidelines for Humans and Dogs:
Strollers are welcome on the course for both humans and dogs.

• Your race bib is your timing chip. Please wear it outside of your clothing facing forward for accurate timing.
• Timing will conclude 45 minutes after the start of the race.
• Walkers stay to the right of the racecourse.
• Extra t-shirts will NOT be available for purchase on race day.
• No more than two dogs per person.
• All dogs are required to be current on vaccinations.
• No dogs under six months of age.
• Dogs must be on leash no more than 6 feet in length.
• Owners are responsible for the well-being and safety of their dog(s) at all times
• No female dogs in heat. 
• No aggressive dogs or aggressive owners. Any signs of aggression towards other dogs or participants will result in being asked to leave the event.

Course Closure:
Recreational walkers/runners are non-competitive and will not be timed if finishing after 45 minutes. If you are participating in this event but are not being timed, please be considerate and not cross the finish line where timing is taking place. Keep to the right or left of the timing chute.

Awards and Results:
Awards will be given to the top three runners overall in the following categories: 

Male 70+, Female 70+, Male 50-69, Female 50-69, Male 18-49, Female 18-49, Non-Binary Adult 18+, Youth 1-17.
