AWARDS ELIGIBILITY NOTICE - PLEASE READ We have two types of starts at the 5K/10K/Nearly Half Resolution Run, a Mass Start and a Rolling Start. In order to be eligible for awards of any kind you must take part in the mass start. For additional details about Mass and Rolling Starts please see the FAQ page.

5k, 10k, & Nearly Half
All participants will receive a finisher's medal at the finish line.
The following awards will be given in the 5K, 10K, and Nearly Half events at the Awards Ceremony. Overall, Masters, and Grand Masters awards will be determined by gun time and will be pulled from their respective age groups (no double dipping). Age group awards will be determined by chip time.

Going into its 3rd year, the Houston Resolution Run has been a New Year’s tradition for many Houstonians. Negative Split Productions and Houston’s #1 Hit Music Station, 104.1 KRBE, bring together athletes of all skill levels with course options including standard 5k and 10k distances, the “New Year’s Nearly-Half” (12.3 miles), plus a Family 1-mile. New in 2024, the Houston Run ONE Championship will determine Houston’s fastest One-Mile road racer and challenge runners to set their own Resolution pace for 2025. All races start downtown at Fish Plaza and head west on Memorial Drive.

Course
The course starts and finishes on Texas Ave next to Fish Plaza.
Runners will start heading westbound on Texas Ave until it merges with Memorial Dr. then Memorial Pkwy. 5k runners will turnaround just before Montrose and head eastbound on Memorial Pkwy back towards the finish at Fish Plaza. Nearly Half and 10k runners will continue westbound on Memorial Pkwy until just before Detering St and will then turnaround, heading eastbound on Memorial Pkwy back towards the finish at Fish Plaza. Nearly Half runners will start their second loop on Bagby and will complete the entire 10k course again.

The course will be open from the 7:30a gun start until 10a. Any runners not completing the course or not at a point on the course where their pace will allow a finish by 10a may be pulled from the course by race officials

Club Discounts
Earn race entry fee discounts for all your club members by having 5 or more club members sign up and volunteer for race. Once the volunteers have registered and selected your club/team you'll receive a special discount code to use for the rest of your club/team.

Event Policies
Transfer Policy
The option to transfer to the virtual event is available anytime until December 28, 2024 at 11:59pm. To process an event transfer, click the Manage Registration link in your confirmation email or by visiting your RunSignup profile page. Refund Policy
Due to the nature event production there are no refunds allowed at any time. We do, however, offer RegShield insurance by FanShield LLC that must be purchased at the time of registration. For details about RegShield, please see the coverage details linked on the registration page.
Weather Policy
The race will go on rain or shine. In the event of extreme weather, further details will be provided via email to all registered participants.

- What is included in my registration?

- What is registration insurance?
- Registration insurance is offered through a third party provider, Protecht Regshield, and must be purchased at the time of registration. The insurance covers your registration fees if you are unable to attend the event for a variety of reasons. To make a claim you must follow the directions sent to you by Protecht Regshield.
- What is covered by registration insurance?
- Covered situations are listed at the time of registration and can be found in the separate email sent by Protecht Regshield.
- How do I make a claim on my registration insurance?
- Please follow the instructions sent by Protecht Regshield in your insurance confirmation email (separate from your event registration confirmation email). We cannot process any claims or answer any specific questions about registration insurance as it is all handled through Protecht Regshield.
- How do I transfer to another race distance (or the virtual race)?
- Race distance transfers or transfers to the virtual race can be processed until the day before the race. To process a transfer you can visit your RunSignup profile or click the Manage Registration link in your confirmation email then clicking Transfer Event. All the available transfer options will be listed. - Yes, race morning packet pickup is available. Please note that lines for packet pickup on race morning may be long and the start of the race will not be delayed due to late pickups.

- Can I change my shirt size at packet pick up?
- No. We order all the items in advance and base our orders off your selection during registration, changes made at packet pickup may result in someone else not receiving what they ordered. If there are shirts remaining after the race, there will be a shirt exchange at the volunteer check-in area.

- What is the difference between the mass start and rolling start?
- The Mass Start is what most runners are used to at an event where everyone begins at a designated time, see RACE DAY SCHEDULE page for details.
- The Rolling Start is an open start line where runners can start the race anytime during the designated time frame. See RACE DAY SCHEDULE page for details.
- Runners opting for either Mass or Rolling Start will receive an official time but ONLY those starting in the Mass Start are eligible for awards, see AWARDS page for details.

- Where can I find my free race day photos?
- We have several photographers around the race site and on the course. The photos are uploaded at the conclusion of the race (please allow up to 2 days as our photographers take A LOT of photos) and the can be found on the PHOTOS page. We will notify a registered participants via email and post of social media when they are ready. Photos are tagged by bib number so it is important that you wear your bib on the front and on your outermost layer of clothing. You can also upload your own photos to the Participant Uploads album.
One Tree Planted
We are excited to partner with One Tree Planted for this event!
When you are registering the option to select Plant a Tree will be listed with the shirt size options. By selecting this option you are opting out of receiving an event shirt and a tree will be planted on your behalf by One Tree Planted. No additional fees will be paid by the participant and we'll cover the costs of having the tree planted.
When the event is over, we'll send the numbers to the staff at One Tree Planted and they'll get to work planting your trees. Once a project is completed, we'll send you a status update with all the detail about your tree and the project you helped fund*. The One Tree Planted team will then take care of your sapling while it grows until strong enough to thrive on it's own.

Packet Pickup
Packet pickup will be held on the following dates and times. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to assist with the process and to answer any questions.
Lines tend to be longest at the beginning packet pickup. Our team will be working diligently to get everyone through the line in the quickest way possible. Please be courteous to other participants and those that have volunteered their time to help make the event a success.

QR Code
About 30 minutes prior to each packet pickup you'll receive an email with your QR code. To expedite the packet pickup process please bring your QR code to be scanned. A printed copy is not necessary, you can have your QR code open on your phone screen.
Packet Shipping
Race packet shipping is available to purchase as an add-on during event registration or may be added up until the cutoff date. An email will be sent to provide the exact cutoff date.
If you choose the packet shipping option, your packet will be mailed directly to you via USPS First Class mail approximately 2 weeks prior to the event. When packets are scanned in by USPS you will receive an automated email with your tracking information.
If you did not purchase race packet shipping when you registered but want to add it to your registration, you can do so by clicking the Manage Registration link in your confirmation email or by visiting your RunSignup profile page. For a complete tutorial on managing your race add-ons click HERE.
It is your responsibility to ensure your shipping address is correct. When you select the option to purchase race packet shipping, you will be asked to input your shipping address separately from your billing address input earlier even if they are the same. If you move and need to update your shipping address, you can do so up to the deadline to purchase race packet shipping by clicking the Manage Registration link in your confirmation email or by visiting your RunSignup profile page. Parking

Race Etiquette
We ask that all participants follow these basic race etiquette practices to ensure a fun event for all:
- While on the course, please stay as far to the right as possible and run or walk no more than two wide to leave room for others.
- No pets are not allowed on the course or at the race site
- Strollers and walkers are more than welcome, we just ask that you start at the back of the chute and take extra caution on the race course.
- Headphones are allowed but, in the interest of safety, it is highly recommended that you only use them in one ear, keeping your other ear open.
- Make sure to wear your bib on the front and on your outermost layer of clothing. This will help ensure that your timing chip will be read at the start and finish and will keep your bib visible for the photographers.

Run ONE Championship
Houston's Run ONE Championship will take place in conjunction with Resolution Run Houston. The one mile run is a baseline test of physical fitness and will push you to the max of your running ability. Do you have what is takes to be Houston's Run ONE Champion?
COURSE
The Houston Run ONE Championship will be a straight out and back from the start/finish line down Memorial Pkwy. Runners will start and finish in front on Fish Plaza on Texas Ave, run westbound on Memorial Pkwy for a 1/2 mile then turnaround and come back to Texas Ave in front of Fish Plaza.
RACE START
Runners will self-seed in the starting chute. And your time will begin when you cross the starting line.

A virtual race option is available if you are unable to attend the live event. Virtual events are a great opportunity to get out and be active while still competing against your peers on your own time without traveling to the race site.
Submitting Your Results
Results may be submitted at any time during the submission period running from December 29, 2024 at 12:00am to January 31, 2025 at 11:59pm. The simplest way to submit your results is by clicking the button below to go to the Results page, clicking the Submit Virtual Results button, and completing the form listed. Virtual Race Packets
Virtual race packets will be shipped via USPS First Class mail with tracking once the submission period ends. You will receive an automated email with your tracking information once your packet is scanned at the post office.

Volunteers make this event possible! Without group and individual volunteers we would not be able to put on a successful event. Resolution Run Houston makes for a great opportunity to support your community, earn required services hours, fundraise for your group or non profit, and build teamwork and camaraderie. Group Donations
Large groups help us fill our most necessary volunteer positions quickly. To say thank you and to foster an ongoing relationship with volunteer groups, we offer group donations. Join us today!
Eligibility - Only teams/groups/clubs/organizations that follow these steps will be eligible for donations.
- Step #1 - Contact the us via the Contact This Race link at the bottom of the page or send an email to support@mynegativesplit.com . We'll add your group's name to the registration form so your members can easily select the group name when registering.
- Step #2 - Have all group members signup online via the Volunteer Registration page and make sure they select your group's name when prompted.
- Step #3 - Work all designated shifts, following all instructions given by Volunteer and race site Coordinators.
Donation Rules - Once a team/group/club/organization hits 10 volunteer shifts worked they get $10 per shift worked. For example if 16 volunteers from a group signed up and completed 16 shifts they would receive a check for $160 for their group.
Checks will be mailed once volunteer numbers and hours are verified. Payments are generally processed within a week of event completion but please allow 4-6 weeks for check delivery. Those that don’t follow the instructions provided by the volunteer coordinator will not be counted toward group totals.
Please keep in mind this is volunteer work and was not meant to be "paid." These are donations meant as a thank you for helping at our event.
