Hunters Moon "Hooves & Heels" Run - 5K, 3K & 1K

Come join us for the Hunter's Moon "Hooves & Heels 5K" hosted by Calvert Main Street Preservation, 501(c)3, Texas Non-Profit Organization. 

Events:  Timed 5K Run, Color Run/Walk, & Kids 1K Run/Walk

Participant Entry Fee includes:

• Complimentary pre-race and recovery refreshments - for all race participants
• Custom Medals to be awarded in 5K and 1K - see event page for more info
• Event T-shirt and swag bag - included with each paid entry fee

More about the races:

1. 5K Timed:  Students, cross country and adult runners compete for personal best times and individual medals.
2. 3K COLOR Fun Run/Walk:  Casual, scenic and FUN for the whole family! Kids under 5 are free with parent! Note: 1 event shirt included with entry
3. 1K Kids:  Competitive and FUN (0.62 mile) event for kids ages 10 and under.

Is the 3K Color Fun Run/Walk a timed race?

No, the Color Fun Run/Walk is not timed and awards are not given. 

Instead, participants are encouraged to slow down so they can be doused with Holi powder in several areas throughout the route and enjoy scenic, historic houses with various Victorian architecture at their own pace.  The shirt with color powder, the giveaways and FUN is your reward! 

For those interested in a chip timed race only, please sign up for our TIMED 5K. 

Is the Color powder permanent?

We provide easy instructions on how to permanently preserve your new, colorful shirt.  If you don't want to preserve or have permanent color, the color powder will fade or wash out.

Can my younger child run/walk alongside me in the Color Fun Run?

Children age 5 and under are free!    This is a stroller friendly race too, so yes, feel free to bring the little's.    

What is the Kids K Run?

This is a 1K (.62 miles) race and geared for kids ages 10 and under who want to compete for a medal!   Every participant gets an event shirt and swag bag.  The entire run takes place on Railroad Street, so parents/siblings can have eyes on their child the entire time.

Top five boy and top five girl finishers get a medal.  Participants must have a sibling or adult present.  

What are the race proceeds used for?

Proceeds are designated for restoration projects that we work with the city of Calvert to obtain, such as our cherished Virginia Field Park, a four city block green space in the heart of the Calvert Historical District, which is listed on The National Register, and is fully surrounded by a historic fence that requires repair and restoration along with three historic structures and historic elements throughout.

2026 Hunter's Moon Hooves & Heels Event T-Shirt

Parking is available in the parking spaces downtown along Highway 6, on downtown side streets, behind Highway 6 businesses and in the SouthStar Bank parking lot. These are a short walk to Check-In. Please be courteous and do not block driveways or other vehicles. Residential street parking is not available due to the run.
