The Annual Hyundai Hope On Wheels 5K is BACK—and bigger, brighter, and more impactful than ever! 🎉 Whether you join us in person or run virtually, this is your chance to make every step count in the fight against pediatric cancer while supporting incredible local non-profits right here in our community.

Race day takes you through the beautiful Fountain Valley Sports Park and the scenic Mile Square Regional Park, creating an unforgettable experience for runners, walkers, and families alike.

Get ready to kick off race weekend in style! Join us on Friday, September 25th from 4:00–7:00 PM at the Fountain Valley Sports Park (16400 Brookhurst St, Fountain Valley) for an evening packed with fun and excitement.

We’ll be partying it up behind Field 5 with:

🎶 Live music to keep the energy high
🍔 Delicious food available for purchase

Skip the early-morning rush—grab your bib on Friday, hang out with fellow runners, and get pumped for race day! 🏃‍♂️💨

If you cannot make our bib pick up, that's not a problem! You can pick up your bib the morning of the race starting at 6:30am in the Expo of the event. The morning of the race might be a little crowded, so we recommend picking up your bib on Friday or arriving early to pick up your bib morning of the race.

Thank you for registering! You’re officially part of one of the most exciting community events of the year. This isn’t just a race—it’s a celebration for families, friends, and our entire community. Proceeds benefit Hyundai Hope on Wheels, plus local organizations and non-profits through the Fountain Valley Community Foundation.

Get ready to run, walk, laugh, and throw some color through the Fountain Valley Sports Park & Mile Square Regional Park! 🌈 Below is everything you need to know before race day:

 
📍 Where’s the Race?
We’ll be at the Fountain Valley Sports Park (16400 Brookhurst Street, Fountain Valley). From the 405, exit at Brookhurst, head north, and in about 1.25 miles, you’ll see the park at Brookhurst & Heil. Both the 5K and Color Run start at the back of the park.

 
🚗 Parking
It’s going to be a big event, so arrive early and carpool if possible. Free parking is available in the Sports Park lots (see map below), or you can park along Brookhurst Street (east side is easiest!).

 
👜 What Should I Bring?
Sunscreen – the SoCal sun always shows up.
Leash & cleanup bags – if you’re bringing your furry friend. 🐶
Sunglasses & towel – especially for the Color Run (you’ll thank us later when your car stays clean!).
Optional cash – for food trucks or race merch (towels, headbands, hats, sunglasses—while supplies last).

Registration/Check-In Opens: 6:30 AM
5K Announcements: 7:30 AM | Race Start: 8:00 AM (chip-timed)
Color Run Announcements: 8:30 AM | Race Start: 9:00 AM 
👉 Pro tip: Plan to arrive at least 45 minutes early for parking and prep.

 
📦 Bib Pick-Up / Pre-Race Party 🎶
Skip the stress on race morning! 🎉
Join us Friday, September 26th from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Sports Park (by Field #5) for bib pick-up + a Pre-Race Party! We’ll have games, inflatables, music, and food for purchase. You can also grab your packet on race day starting at 6:30 AM.

Can’t make it? A friend can pick up your packet with a signed note.

 
📝 Late Registration
Got a last-minute runner? Registration is open until race morning and closes:

5K: 7:45 AM
Color Run: 8:45 AM
(Some swag like shirts may be sold out day-of—first come, first served!)

 
🎉 After the Race
Head to the Post-Race Party near the finish line for water, snacks, DJ music, and food trucks! Stick around—it’s the perfect way to celebrate crossing the finish line.

 
⏱️ Timing
The 5K is chip-timed (your chip is on the back of your bib—wear it on your front).
NEW THIS YEAR, The Color Run is also chip-timed, but feel free to relax and enjoy the rainbow vibes. 🌈
Live results will be posted online in real-time, and we’ll email you once finish line photos & videos are up! 📸

 
🙌 Race Etiquette
No need to rush the start—your chip tracks when you cross.
Families with strollers, kids, or dogs: please line up toward the back.
Most importantly: show caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility—let’s keep this a fun, welcoming event for all!
