Do you love Alum Creek Lake, Delaware Lake, Deer Creek Lake, Paint Creek Lake, Dillon Lake, or Tom Jenkins Lake/Burr Oak Dam? Then show us some dam love, and join us for the 5th Annual Just Another Dam Race 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run!
The events will be held entirely in the Alum Creek State Park wooded trails and on Alum Creek Dam! It will kick off from the south section of the Alum Creek State Park Beach parking lot at 8:00 AM (the 1-mile fun run/walk will step off at 7:55 AM). Every participant on race day will receive a finisher medal. Bring your friends, family, neighbors, or anyone for some dam fun!

Early Packet Pickup
Save time in line on race morning and stop by Columbus Running Company's Westerville location (50 N State St 43081) on Thursday, May 23 (10a-8p), or Friday, May 24 (10a-8p). Chat with the running and walking experts at the CRC, and maybe pick up a pair of sunglasses to protect your eyes from the sunshine while you're running over the dam!
Race morning packet pickup will also be available near the start/finish line beginning at 7:00 AM.
Parking
There is ample parking at Alum Creek State Parks Beach (3400 Lewis Center Rd 43035). The start/finish of the races will be at the southern portion of the parking lot, continue all the way into the parking area for the best access to the event activities.
Race Day Timeline
- 7:00 AM - Race day check-in and registration (registration available while spots remain) begins
- 7:55 AM - The 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk steps off
- 8:00 AM - The 5K Run/Walk is underway
Course Maps and Safety
Please click here to view the 5K and 1-mile course maps. Please note that these routes are a mixture of surfaces. The 1-mile fun run/walk is mostly trail (earthen, crushed gravel), and the 5K incorporates those sections with the paved trail over the dam. Please note that there is two-way traffic on some sections of the routes, participants should "stay to the right" at all times.
Strollers are allowed (though usage may be difficult based on some terrain depending on the ruggedness of your stroller), and participation with dogs, bicycles, hoverboards, etc., all prohibited. Thank you for your cooperation.
