About Lansing Turkey Trot
Start Time: 9 am on Thanksgiving Morning.
Open/flexible start line! Start the 5K run/walk any time between 9:00 and 9:10am. Faster runners line up in the front. The starting line area is wide. You do not have to feel rushed to get to the starting line. Start your race when you are ready. Timing does not start until you cross the timing mats!
Parking: The Lansing Community College parking ramp will be open and available for parking again this year! There is ample free parking in the Lansing Community College ramp. After the race you are able to exit the ramp before the last runner has finished. We encourage parking in the ramp, it's an easy in and out. Volunteers will guide you in and out.

Family Discount: Register 3 or more people at the same time and save $3/person (10% discount). Valid only until November 19th, valid only for the in-person 5k run/walk event.
Be sure to preregister. There is no race day registration.
Packet pick up: At Playmakers, Tuesday 11/24 and Wednesday 11/25 from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm (both days). Packet pick up will be at the Playmakers community center. The Playmakers store is located at 2299 West Grand River Ave. Okemos, MI 48864. You are able to pick up packets for family and friends on their behalf. We encourage picking up your packet at Playmakers to avoid long lines on race day morning. Race day packet pickup will begin at 7:30 am at Lansing Community College in the Gannon building, first floor.
Results: Your accurate chip time and current overall and age group place will be texted to your phone and live on this site.
Age Group Awards: Medals to top 3 in age groups: 10 & under, 11-12 13-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85+
Overall Awards: Medal and $50 Playmakers gift certificate to Male and Female: Overall, Master (Over 40), Grand Master (Over 50)
Awards will be available race day at the awards table starting at 9:45 am. The awards table will be outside located near the Finish.
Proceeds from the race go to support High School and Middle School Cross Country and Track programs, and Youth Running Clubs through the Michigan Running Foundation grant program.
Virtual Lansing Turkey Trot: If you can't make the race and still want to participate sign up for the virtual race and we will mail out a shirt and bib to you! Run your virtual race any time from November 22 to November 30. Cost is $35 and includes shipping. There are no awards for the virtual event. Registration for the virtual event closes on November 19th. Packets will be mailed out the week of November 23rd.
No-shows to the race will forfeit their t-shirt, no exceptions

Where do the proceeds go?
All of the proceeds go to support youth running in Michigan. The Michigan Running Foundation (501c3 non-profit organization) gives out grants, upwards of $30K to $60K annually, to support High School and Middle School Cross Country and Track programs, Youth Track Clubs, pay to play scholarships, Cross Country Camp scholarships to help students attend the camp if they cannot afford to go.
Where do I park?
The Lansing Community College parking structure will be open and available for parking again this year! There is ample free parking in the Lansing Community College structure. Enter and Exit the Ramp on Saginaw Street. Grand Ave will be closed. Parking Map HERE. Use the DIRECTIONS/VIEW MAP at the bottom of the main page for specific information on where to enter the parking ramp.
Is there a Packet Pickup?
Yes at the Playmakers store on Tuesday 11/25 and Wednesday 11/26 from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm (both days). Packet pick up will be at the Playmakers community center, located right next to the store.

Can I pick up my family or friend’s packet at Packet Pick Up?
Yes. Please bring a list of first and last names if you are picking up for more than 3 people.
What are the T-shirt sizes?
Your entry fee includes a Dri-Power Active Long Sleeve 50/50 T-Shirt. Youth S, M, L, and Adult S, M, L, XL, XXL. Shirts are not guaranteed after Wednesday, November 19th.
Can I change my T-shirt size? Yes prior to 11/19. There are no size changes after 11/19. To change your size go to RunSignup.com and login, select the person icon in the upper right hand corner, select Profile, go to Upcoming Races, select Manage Registration. Here you are able to edit your Giveaway/T-shirt size. THERE ARE NO SIZE SWAPS AT PACKET PICKUP OR ON RACE DAY.
Do I need to register my kids? What are the age requirements? We require kids ages 5 and up to register for the race. If your child under age 5 would like a t-shirt and will be enjoying refreshments after the race then we ask that you kindly sign them up as well.
Are baby joggers and strollers allowed?
Yes. The race can accommodate strollers and baby joggers. Please line up towards the back of the start line.
What is the course like?
The 5000 meter course is scenic, accurate and fast through Downtown Lansing passing the State Capitol Christmas Tree.
What is the race day schedule? Packet pickup opens at 7:30 am. 8:40 am participants start to make their way to the starting line. 8:45 am announcements and National Anthem. The run/walk will start at 9:00am. The start line will be open from 9:00 am until 9:10 am. The faster runners will line up first.
Results and Awards Results will be live on this site and texted to your phone if you signed up for it. There will also be QR codes for you to scan to pull up your results. If you are the Overall, Master (over 40), Grand Master (over 50) or top 3 in your age group stop by the award table starting at 9:45 am and get your award. There is no awards ceremony, we want to get you home and ready for Turkey day! .
Are Dogs Allowed?
No. For the safety of the participants and the dogs we ask that you not bring your dog.
Is there refreshments/water? There is bottled water at the finish line and a light snack. We don't want you filling up too much before Thanksgiving dinner! There is no water along the course, please bring your own for the course.
Are there restrooms? Yes, inside the LCC Gannon building there are plenty of restrooms available.
Can I create or join a team? Yes we encourage groups and teams as a fun social way to kick off Thanksgiving morning! There are no awards for teams. Teams are valid for the in-person event only. During the registration steps you will be asked if you want to create or join a team, follow the steps. Please note that a team does not receive discount pricing. You can receive discount pricing if you register 3 or more people at the same time, valid until 11/19. If you register 3 people on a team and receive the discount and then want to add a 4th person to the team at a future date you will not receive the discount for the 4th person.
Are refunds allowed? No, there are no refunds
Can I transfer to the virtual event? The last day for in-person participants to transfer to the virtual race is on Wednesday, November 19th. No event transfers will be processed after that date. Packets for the virtual participants are being mailed out by Monday, November 24th. Registration for the virtual event ends on 11/19. Parking
The Lansing Community College parking structure will be open and available for parking again this year! There is ample free parking in the Lansing Community College structure. Entering and Exiting the ramp will be fast and easy!
Enter and Exit the Ramp on Saginaw Street.
The LCC Softball Team will be volunteering in the parking structure. They've been doing this for years, and have a wonderful process in place to guide you in and out.
We kindly ask that you do not back into the parking spot as it causes a delay in getting cars into the lot.
