Legal Runaround 5K, 3K Poker Walk, & Kids Dashes

A Memorial Weekend tradition NOW in the beautiful and expansive Duke Island Park in Bridgewater, NJ. While we look back fondly on our tenure in the heart of Downtown Somerville, we welcome you to enjoy the many perks of our new event home: ample, close, and free parking; reduced commuting concerns in our less congested location; and a traffic-free 5K and Walk course. Kick off your holiday weekend on Thursday evening with all of the amenities the community has come to love since 2006 including a fun lively atmosphere, your choice of run/walk/dash, souvenir shirt and prizes, and dinner-time refreshments. 

We're excited to see you at the 20th annual Legal Runaround! It's going to be a great night and kick-off for the holiday weekend!

• Registration opens at 5:15 p.m.
• Kids Dashes start at 6:00 p.m. (NEW Start Time)
• 3K Poker Walk starts at 6:25 p.m.
• 5K Run kicks off at 6:45 p.m. (NEW Start Time)
• Awards & Prizes at 7:30 p.m.

• Check-In opens at 5:15 p.m. Receive your souvenir tech tee and bib #.
• New registrations will be accepted between 5:15 p.m. and kick-off of each event. Online registration is open and you can pay with credit card with a processing fee OR fill out an entry form neatly and provide cash or check for $38 - 5K; $30 - 3K; or $10 - Kids Dashes.
• Wear your assigned bib # on the front of your shirt. 
• 5K Run: Clocks at each mile & the finish; water available along the course; B-Tag chip timing; unofficial results available as you cross the finish line via BestRace.com/mobile and official results later at BestRace.com or here on our website. Course map available on homepage of this website. Course is USATF certified and offers 500 Grand Prix points.
• 3K Poker Walk: Receive your 1st card at check-in, 3 along your walk, and check back for the final community card when you return. Remember your poker sheet and to hydrate!
• Kids Dashers will sprint in age group races and receive a finisher ribbons!
• As you return, enjoy PIZZA, snacks, tunes, and an energetic atmosphere! 
• Rain or Shine! In the off-chance of severe weather delays or cancellations, announcements would be made (as possible) and we will update the homepage of this website.
• Stay hydrated!
• Environmental Notes:
  • While plenty of water will be available to you on-site, we encourage you to bring water in your own reusable bottle to help reduce our single-use plastic waste. A refill station will be available. 
  • We are now accepting your Tyvek bib numbers for recycling! Drop-off will be near check-in and you can bring old bibs too.
  • Somerset County Parks recycle! Please be mindul of the bin designations.

Kids ages 2-12 sprint on the lawn! Each age group runs their own Dash. 25 - 100 meters depending on age!

BENEFICIARY

This year the Legal Runaround 5K proudly supports MEGHAN ROSE BRADLEY!! The Meghan Rose Bradley Foundation was established December 2004 in honor of the memory of Meghan Bradley, who after being diagnosed with brain cancer on October 1, passed away on November 7th. Meghan was extremely involved as an honors student, a talented athlete as a member of the high school field hockey and track teams, a competitive dancer, as well as an active member of Temple Beth El’s youth group, SMOOCHY.  Learn more at https://www.meghanrosebradleyfoundation.org/about

YOUR HOST - Somerset County Bar Foundation
In 1969, the Board of Trustees of the Somerset County Bar Association recognized a need to further reach out to the public and local legal community to offer programs, services and funding. Formed as a separate, charitable organization from the Bar Association, it currently offers and supports a number of programs and fundraisers. The Foundation consists of a Board of Trustees who oversee activities, fundraising and the awarding of donations to local non-profit organizations, which are generally related to the law, and scholarships to deserving local New Jersey law school students.
