Liberty Sprint 5K

Welcome to the Liberty Sprint 5K kicking off Edmond's LibertyFest, the largest 4th of July celebration in Oklahoma!

Join us at Mitch Park on Saturday June 26th at 8:00 am for a 5K Run/Walk or a 1 Mile Fun Run!

The event is great for the whole family from strollers to grandparents, and dog friendly for well-socialized pups on a leash. We do ask that any participants with dogs be prepared with a "pick up" bag to attend to any unscheduled potty breaks on the course. We want to leave the park spotless, so we need everyone to do their part!  

For additional fun, participate in our costume contest! We'll have a special prize for the most amazing get up. 

The event will support the Travis Manion Foundation, empowering veterans and families of fallen heroes to develop character in future generations.

We will also have pick up available on site at the race starting at 7:00 am but WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT EVRYONE PICK UP IN ADVANCE to avoid lines and delays at the event.

Mitch Park can be very busy on Saturdays with baseball tournaments at the fields and swim meets at the YMCA in addition to our race. Please allow extra time for traffic and parking for timely arrival and a smoother experience.

Recommended parking areas are marked in yellow on course map and site plan. Please do not park in the YMCA dedicated lot noted in red. 

We are back to the original 5K Course this year!.

The 5K Run starts and finishes on the south ballfield drive and consists of a single external lap of the Mitch Park trail system, (see map below for details). The route is combination of flat to gently rolling terrain. There are some inclines but the course is suitable for runners and walkers of all abilities.

Liberty Sprint uses MyLaps Bib Tag timing and live online results. Participants can also enable finish time text and email notifications for themselves, friends, and family. All runners will also be able to view, download, print, and share a custom finisher certificate with your time from your online results. We are also pleased to partner with Okie Pics to offer event photos loaded to your results from the race. You can download, print, and share all these great assets and we invite you to #LiberyFest in your social posts to let everyone know what a great time you had!

Can't be with us on race day but still want to be part of the fun? The Virtual Race option might be a great fit for you!

Our Virtual Race Option is a little different from some other events. This option is often used for late date conflicts or unexpected illness. Maybe you just hate crowds or have a busy schedule. The Virtual Run allows you to get a bib, shirt, and finisher medal then run the 3.1 miles on your own convenience from race day through the following week. You can even post your time online by visiting our Result Page and clicking the "Submit Virtual Results" button at the top pf the page from race day through the following week.

Important - we don't mail packets so you still have to make arrangements to pick up before or at the race during the designated packet pick up hours. You can certainly have a friend or family member pick up for you if you're unavailable or out of town. We'll get you a finisher medal when you pick up. Any unclaimed shirts and bib numbers and medals will be opened up to race day participants so make sure to get your gear! Post your finish time as described above to get a free finisher certificate in your online results. Most of all, have a great run!
