Margarita 5K at Plaza Antigua

WILL RUN FOR MARGARITAS!
Celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month with us at the 6th Annual Margarita 5K! This festive race returns to Waynesboro this September in partnership with Plaza Antigua for another unforgettable morning of running, walking, margaritas, and community fun.

Participants will enjoy a scenic neighborhood course, a festive performance tee, an awesome finisher glass, and — of course — a post-race celebratory margarita! After the race, stick around and enjoy Plaza Antigua’s spacious outdoor venue with plenty of seating for you and your crew.

A portion of race proceeds will benefit HERO of Waynesboro.

Walkers, teams, and leashed pups are all welcome!

REGISTRATION

• $40 - through 8/20/26
• $45 - 8/21/26 through 9/11/26
• $50 - Race day (9/12/26) 

Participants registered on or before Sunday, August 30 are guaranteed an event shirt. A limited number of extra shirts may be available after packet pickup, while supplies last. Check back after the race for availability.

All registrants will receive a pre-race email with event details and race day information during race week.​

TEAMS
Grab your friends, coworkers, neighbors, or family members and participate as a team! Teams may run or walk, and all experience levels are welcome. A team consists of two or more participants.

COURSE INFO
The paved course winds through an adjacent neighborhood and is walker- and dog-friendly.

Fido is welcome on the course and in the outdoor seating area but must remain leashed at all times.

POST-RACE
After you cross the finish line, it's time to celebrate!

Pick up your finisher glass and margarita, enjoy the outdoor party atmosphere, and stick around for awards, music, and great food from Plaza Antigua.

• One finisher glass and margarita are included for all participants 21+
• Use the Beverage Ticket attached to your race bib
• Valid ID to required

AWARDS
Awards will be presented to:

• Overall Male and Female Winners
• 1st Place Finishers in the following age groups:
  • ​Under 21: 8-11 |12-15 |16-20
  • Over 21: 21-29 | 30-39 | 40-49 | 50-59 | 60-69 | 70-79 | 80+

Winners must be present at the awards ceremony to receive their award.

REFUNDS | TRANSFERS
There are no refunds for this event.

Runner transfers are permitted. To transfer your registration to another participant, please email your request no later than two weeks prior to race day.

WEATHER POLICY
In the event of severe weather that makes the course unsafe, the event will be postponed to the following day.

Participants will be notified via email, and updates will also be posted on the website and Facebook pages.

Please ensure you are available for both dates, as refunds will not be issued due to weather-related postponements.

Rally the troops and run or walk as a team on race day! All sizes and skill levels of groups are welcome, but we consider a complete team to be 2 or more participants. Create or join a team during registration. ​Biggest team and team with the best costumes wins a prize!

 

REFERRAL PROGRAM
Invite your friends to join you at the Margarita 5K. If you get 4 friends to sign up using your special referral link (which you receive in your confirmation email after you register), you'll get a $10 refund as our Thank You!

 

COURSE
The course is on pavement and traverses through an adjacent neighborhood. Walker and Fido friendly. Fido must be leashed at all times, is allowed on the course and in the outdoor seating area. Course Map

AWARDS

Awards are given to the overall male and female finishers, and to 1st place finishers in the following age groups:
