5K - 8:00 AM | 1 Mile Fun Run - 9:00 AM

Join the fun Sunday, May 18, 2025.  Gather with your friends, neighbors, and family for a run or walk featuring beautiful Candler Park neighborhood streets and the Freedom Park Path.  All proceeds from the event benefit the Mary Lin Elementary PTA.

START/FINISH LOCATION

• The 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run start and finish at Mary Lin Elementary School (586 Candler Park Dr NE Atlanta, GA 30307). 

COURSE INFORMATION 

Course time limit:  

• 5K - 59 minutes (19 minute/mile pace)
• Fun Run - 30 minutes (30 minutes/mile)

5K Age Guidelines

• 5K participants under the age of 8 must be accompanied by parent or other responsible adult while on the course

PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE COURSE AT ANY TIME

Sunday, April 28th from 8:00 am-8:40 am. 

Apple Pay, credit and debit cards accepted.

REGISTRATION & RACE NUMBER PICK-UP

REGISTRATION

• Online registration closes at 11:59 pm Saturday, May 17th.
• Walk-up registration will be available during pre-race packet pick-up (Friday, May 16th,  2:30 pm – 5:30 pm at Mary Lin Elementary School) and on race morning from 7:00 am – 8:40 am.

RACE NUMBER PICK-UP

• Save time race morning.  Early race number and t-shirt pick-up will be available Friday, May 16th from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
• Shirt and number pick-up will be available for pre-registered runners race morning from 7:00 am – 8:40 am.

RACE DAY INFORMATION

PARKING & TRANSPORTATION 

• Race morning parking will be available in the north parking lot of Mary Lin Elementary School and on surrounding neighborhood streets.  Access to Candler Park Dr NE will be limited to accommodate the racecourse.  
• Walking, biking, rideshare and public transportation is highly recommended.  Plan to arrive 45-60 minutes before the start of your event to allow adequate time for locating a parking space and walking to the start line.

START/FINISH RESTROOMS & WATER  

• Available in Mary Lin Elementary School

5K/1 MILE START STAGING

• Runners and walkers should line up according to projected pace per mile.  (fastest runners at the front)

STROLLERS

• Strollers are welcome.  Please line up according to your projected pace.

PETS

• THE ROCKET RUN COURSE IS NOT DOG FRIENDLY!  We love dogs, but they will not be allowed on the course. Well behaved dogs, accustomed to crowds, on non-retractable leashes are welcome to cheer for their people from the sidelines.  

ON-COURSE WATER

• The on-course water station is located at adjacent to the Freedom Path at the Mary Lin Spur (approximately mile 1.5 of the 5K and .25 and .75 of the 1-mile run).  Please keep moving through the water station and take advantage of trash containers to discard cups. 

RESULTS AND AWARDS

• The 5K Awards Ceremony will take place at approximately 9:30 am.  Awards will be presented to the 1st Overall Male and Female Finisher.
• Medals will be presented to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Male and Female Finishers in the following age groups:  5-8, 9-11, 12-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+.
