Mayor's Day 5K Run/Walk

Fast  USATF certified course through Union Township, NJ   BlueBox Chip timing.  Chip start, chip finish.  Text messaging within seconds of finishing with finish time and pace, HD finish line video integrated into results.  Sign up online and save! Our Recipient for 2026 - Marcos Rodriguez

Hoping for One Step at a Time

In December 2023, Marcos Rodriguez, a resident of Union, who became a quadriplegic in a life-changing moment during a swimming accident on December 22 in Costa Rica, affecting him and his entire family.

Since then, he and his family face mounting and crushing debt for his treatment and care. He attends therapy at Kessler Rehabilitation, determined to walk again.

A father who once witnessed his son battle and survive leukemia, Marcos knows what faith in the darkest hours looks like.  

Generously, Marco stepped aside when previously offered assistance – doing so for a local child who is struggling with brain cancer.  That is the kind of man he is.For our 5K, the Greater Union Chamber decided that this time would Marcos’ time for support from our wonderful community.

Marcos Rodrigues’ journey has touched so many lives, and now we wish to touch his life as the recipient of a portion of our proceeds from this year’s 5K Run. 

Please run/walk this year with us, so that – maybe- one day Marcos will!
