We're proud to continue our partnership with the Veterans Leadership Program, a local organization dedicated to helping veterans navigate the transitions of life.

We at GCXC love dogs and many of our staff have them.  They are a wonderful addition to any family.   However, for safety and insurance reasons, we do not allow them at our events.  Please come to our races and have a blast with your family, friends and fellow runners but we kindly ask you to leave your dogs at home.  

SERVICE ANIMALS:  If you will be accompanied by a service animal, please contact the race director before the event so that we may make the appropriate accommodations for you.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

GCXC does allow strollers at races where it is safe to do so.   If there is a race where we can not, we will specifically list that on the event website.   

However, we do ask that anyone with a stroller start in the rear of the event, or if you are competitive with your stroller, start on the left or right of the field and not in the middle.  This will allow for the safety and comfort of all participants at the event.  Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Welcome to the 2nd Annual Memorial Day Remembrance Run.   This event, in partnership with the Veterans Leadership Program, is being held to raise awareness and support for Western Pennsylvania Veterans and their families.

The North Park location of Millie's Homemade Ice Cream will be open early that day to fuel your run with the best part of summer: Ice Cream! 20% of sales on May 24th will benefit VLP as well.

RACE DAY PICK-UP

• 7:30 am - 8:50 am at the North Park Boathouse

PARKING

• Parking is not available in the Boathouse Lot but there is ample parking around the Boathouse across the street and along Pearce Mill Road.

RESTROOMS

• Restrooms are available in the boathouse and onsite near the boathouse parking lot.

Veterans Leadership Program is a Veteran-centric human service organization that provides housing, employment, wellness, and supportive services to Veterans and their family members residing in the Pittsburgh, Altoona, Butler, and Erie Veterans Administration Medical Center catchment areas, a service delivery area comprised of 30 counties throughout Western and Central Pennsylvania.

VLP serves all Veterans regardless of their branch of service, the era they served in, their discharge status, or their Veterans Administration (VA) eligibility.  The need for emergency financial assistance is higher than ever which is why donations are so critical and important.  All money stays right here empowering local Veterans in need here is Western and Central Pennsylvania.
