Metro Way 5K & West Fest

Join UM Health-West on July 22 for the annual Metro Way 5K and our brand-new West Fest! The Metro Way 5K & West Fest presented by LMCU is a family-friendly event designed to bring the whole community together for one memorable day.

This year we’re introducing West Fest, a festival-style experience for children and families to enjoy both during and after the race. With food trucks, live music, inflatables, and lots of hands-on activities, West Fest will provide plenty of entertainment and fun for all ages.

Proceeds from the race will benefit the nursing excellence fund at UM Health-West, supporting the dedicated caregivers who go the extra mile for patients and families every day.

Run or Walk:

You can run or walk the 5K. It’s perfect for all paces!

Virtual 5K:

Run or walk on your own time, wherever you would like!

YMCA Youth Races:

Kids can join in on the fun, too, with our YMCA Youth Races held right before the 5K.

Peer to Peer Fundraising:

Participants can create a personal peer-to-peer fundraising page and invite friends and family to support them.

Whether you’re running, walking, or simply joining in on the fun, it’s a day built for everyone to enjoy. We can’t wait to see you there!

Check-In & Late Registration

5:00 pm - 6:25 pm | Race Headquarters (2225 Main St SW Wyoming, MI  49519) 
Visit the check-in table inside race headquarters from 5:00 pm - 6:25 pm on race day to pick up your bib & T-shirt* or register for the event. Event Day Registration Cost: $45.00 (exact cash or major credit card). 

*Race shirts guaranteed to participants who register before June 24, 2026. Additional shirts may be available while supplies last, on a first come basis. 

Race Overview

5:00 pm - 6:25 pm | Race Check-In & Late Registration at Race Headquarters
6:00 pm (5:45 warm up) | YMCA Youth Races
5:00 pm - 8:00 pm | West Fest photo opportunity, sponsors and local business tents, activities, live band, and more!
6:30 pm | Metro Way 5K Race Start
7:15 pm | Awards Ceremony
7:30 pm | Stretch Class

Awards will be presented to the first person who crosses the finish line for the following categories:

• Top Male Finisher - Open

• Top Female Finisher - Open

The top three finishers for men and women in each age group will receive prizes. Runners must be present at the Awards Ceremony to receive an Age Group Award. 

All registered 5K finishers receive a finisher's medal.   

PHOTOGRAPHY NOTICE: A photographer will be taking photos at this event. If you do not consent to having your image captured and posted to UM Health-West’s social media, website or other promotional platforms, please inform both the photographer and a volunteer at the welcome table.
