New Year's Day 5K & Fun Run

Start Your New Year on the Right Foot, Dallas! This fun 5K will have you running the New Year in festive style!

New Year's Day Brunch will go until 11am.

Participants registered by December 5th will have t-shirt guaranteed. If you register after December 5th you may receive a t-shirt but we cannot guarantee the size you want. T-shirt order must be placed then. Tees must be printed and shipped to be received on time.

Hosting Venue

Katy Trail Ice House

The Ice House is an Austin style beer garden and restaurant, located in the heart of uptown Dallas on the Katy Trail. A fifty foot long bar boasts fifty beers on tap, ranging from Texas Domestics to Regional and International Imports on the draw. We have been awarded the best patio in Dallas with our open seating communal beer garden.

Parking

There will be 70 VALET parking spots available at the venue. Other parking available at Ice House regular parking lot and on the streets by the venue.

The Run

5K and 1M Fun Run - will take place on the beautiful Katy Trail. Water stops will be available on the 5K course at mile 1 and mile 2.

Swag

Brunch Pass - breakfast taco and mimosa or beer for those over 21 years of age  (must be 21 bring I.D.)

Extra Brunch Tickets Available

This ticket is to purchase an extra ticket for someone who is not participating in the event but is coming with you. Each runner will receive a brunch ticket on their bib. Add an extra ticket if:

A: you want to get 2 breakfast tacos and 2 drinks (beer or mimosa)

B: someone is coming to the race with you and you want them to have a brunch too. This ticket will provide one breakfast taco and one beer or mimosa to your guest.

Virtual Race

No packet pickup for virtual participant. Virtual runners will receive a t-shirt and finisher medal via mail during the week after the race. 

Per USATF safety rules and insurance, no pets are allowed on the 5K course. We love our furry kids too, but safety first. Pets are welcome in the 1M fun event. 

Strollers are allowed to be safely integrated into the event.

The minimum age to participate in the 5K is 6 and no minimum age for the 1 mile.

The course officially closes at 11:00am for all participants.

Under no circumstance should children or adults be allowed to participate in sanctioned events on a scooter, roller, or inline skates, on a bike or e-bike.

The use of personal music devices during the race is strongly discouraged. To enjoy all that participating in a race has to offer and for the safety of all participants, race management encourages a headphone-free environment during the event.

Safety has always been, and will continue to be, a top priority. Please be mindful of the other participants and respect the race personnel to ensure a safe and enjoyable race for everyone.

We reserve the right to change any event course at any time due to safety, weather conditions, or other production concerns.

If you love race t-shirts, please don't wait until the last minute to sign up. All participants registered by DECEMBER 5th, 2025 will have t-shirt of their size guaranteed. T-shirts must be ordered then to be printed, shipped and received on time. If you sign up after December 5th, we won't know your size when ordering and for that reason, we cannot guarantee you will receive a t-shirt.

EARLY PACKET PICKUP

Day 1: Wednesday, December 30, 2026 3pm-6:00pm,

Day 2:  Thursday, December 31, 2026 1pm-4:00pm

at Playtri Dallas, Hillside Village Shopping Center, 6465 E Mockingbird Ln #358, Dallas, TX 75214.

Family and friends may pick up your race packet.

To ensure fairness for everyone in line, each person is allowed to pick up a maximum of 4 packets at a time. If someone takes more than 4 packets, they must rejoin the packet pickup line as if they are entering the location for the first time.

The 5K is a chip timed event. Each participant will be required to wear a timing chip in order to be counted in the results. We will be using disposable timing tags for this event that you will receive with your bib at packet pickup.

The 1M fun run will not be timed. 

Please wear your bib visibly on the FRONT for timing purposes.

1M fun run is not timed, no awards, just fun.
