About Newstead 5K
Join us at 9am on Saturday, September 26th on the iconic Newstead 5K course, starting at the South Mountain Annex and running through the beautiful Newstead neighborhood!!!
Participants will receive a race T-shirt and collapsible cup (while supplies last).
The Newstead 5K prides itself on being a family-friendly event. Strollers are welcome but no pets please. There will also be two events exclusively for the kids. Shortly after the completion of the 5K, we will have a "Toddler Dash" on the lawn near the Annex perfect for kids ages 4 and under. After the completion of the dash, the 1/2 mile Kid's Fun Run will commence on the closed road in front of the Annex.

Kids Fun Run
The Newstead 5K is a family fun event with activities for all ages!
After the official 5K event, there will be a 25 yard Sprint on the lawn of the South Mountain Annex for children 4 and under. After the sprint race, children ages 4 and up can participate in the 1/2 mile Fun Run. The run starts at the South Mountain Annex on Glenview Rd. Kids run to a cone on Longview Rd (where adults will be stationed to make sure all kids make the u-turn) and run back to the start.
Registration is NOT necessary for the Toddler Sprint or Kids Fun Run - just show up and have a great time!
Participants in the kids fun run DO NOT receive a race t-shirt.

Race Day Parking
RACE DAY PARKING
The race begins at the South Mountain Annex (112 Glenview Rd, South Orange, NJ). Many of the roads in Newstead will be closed for the event. Suggested street parking includes Glenview (between Hoskier & South Orange Ave), White Oak, and Duffield. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to park and walk to the race start.
School Spirit Contest

We are creating a friendly fundraising competition. The school that raises the most funds for the Achieve Foundation will be able to display the BRAND NEW Achieve Foundation Newstead 5K Trophy for the 2025-2026 school year. This is sure to become an iconic trophy that schools are vying for year over year.
