🍺 Oktoberfest 5K at Big Lug Canteen 🍂
Lace up your running shoes, raise your stein, and celebrate fall at the Oktoberfest 5K! Whether you're chasing a personal best or just looking for a fun morning with friends, this festive 5K is packed with Bavarian spirit, great beer, and plenty of post-race fun.

Enjoy a shady out-and-back course along the scenic Monon Trail before crossing the finish line into a true Oktoberfest celebration at Big Lug Canteen. Your registration includes an awesome race shirt, a collectible finisher medal, chip-timed results, and one complimentary Big Lug beer (21+ with valid ID). Stick around after the race for delicious German-inspired food, music, games, and a festive atmosphere.

Dust off your lederhosen, break out the dirndl, or simply wear your favorite Oktoberfest gear—costumes are highly encouraged! Whether you're running, jogging, or walking, everyone is welcome to join the celebration.

Race Day Schedule Saturday September 26:

• 9:15am - 10:30am Packet Pickup Opens
• 10:45am - 5K Starts
• 11:00am - 10:00pm Post Race Oktoberfest Festival Celebration with Live Music, German Style Beers & German Food Specials! 
  

Q: I cannot come, what are my options?  Can I get a refund?
A:  Sorry there are no refunds for any reason.  We offer 4 different options to choose from.

1) You may switch to virtual and have your swag mailed  ($15 Fee applies to cover shipping cost, price per person).

2) You may have a friend pick up your swag on race day... They will enjoy your drink ticket :)

3) You may sell/give away your entry to a friend/family at no additional cost. 

4) Donate Your Registration to the Charity Partner.

Q:  Are there water stops on the 5K course?
A:  Yes, we will have a water stop at the half point (turnaround).
 
 
Q: Parking?
A:  2 Locations to Choose from:

1) Total Wine / Monon Parking. 
This lines up with the Monon and walking across is very easy. There is the light at 86th street which takes time but not complicated to get across. (Nora Corners Shopping Center, 1460 E 86th St, Indianapolis, IN 46240)

2) Whole Foods, Culinary Dropout, Etc Parking. 
This is across the Monon as well with easy access. It is less than a 10-minute walk and no one would tow. (1300 E 86th St, Indianapolis, IN 46240)

Q:  Will the race still happen if it is raining, snowing or sleeting?
A:  Yes!!!  We will only delay for lightning or tornado.
 
Q:  Can my kids register for this 5K race?
A:  Yes, they sure can!  
 
Q:  Is this course stroller-friendly?   May I push a stroller? 
A:  Yes – please be courteous of runners in a hurry (especially keep to the right, as the course is out n back).
 
Q:  Is this event dog-friendly?  Can I bring my dog? 
A:  Yes – and no charge:)  you know the rules… clean up. Please be respectful of other runners (especially keep your dog on the leash on the right side of the path). No dogs allowed inside Big Lug Canteen.

Q:  Are there Awards? 
A:  Yes, Top 3 Male/Female Overall Winners.  Top 3 Male/Female in each Age Group. Overall and age group winners will receive special overall and age group medals.

Q:  Will the age group prizes be mailed?
A:  No, all prizes must be picked up on race day (typically about 10 minutes after you finish).  If you did not pick up your prize there will be a $8 fee to be mailed to you.
