Welcome to the Oktoberfest @ Stony Creek 30k, Half Marathon, 10k and 5k event taking place amidst the picturesque landscapes of Stony Creek Metropark in Shelby Township, Michigan, this fall! This is the same great event that has been taking place for over 10 years. Past events have been in November, but we have placed this with the half marathon and 30k distances PERFECT and Specifically for your final tune-up run before the fall marathons!
Join us for a day of exhilarating events, featuring something for everyone, whether you're a seasoned marathoner, a casual runner, or a first-time participant. Our event offers a range of distances, including the perfect tune-up distance of 30k (18.6), half marathon, 10k, and 5k races, catering to all levels of fitness and experience.
Set against the backdrop of the stunning Stony Creek Metropark, runners will traverse scenic trails, winding through lush forests, across sparkling lakeshores, and amidst vibrant autumn foliage. 5k - Course Map

Starting opposite the first three events, you will begin about 8:20 a.m., heading around the parking lot and LEFT at the pedestrian path down to the path on the opposite end of Winter Cove. Taking a Left there looping through Wintercove. This will create separation between the faster runners coming back to the finish line. Looping back through and up back on the path and back to the finish line.

10k
The 10k runs a single lap around Stony Creek Lake on the Hike/Bike path starting and finishing at the same start/finish line as the other distances.
Explanation of the 10k+ (6.5) Course:
Start & Finish is at Baypoint Beach Tent
1. Run ONE full counter clockwise lap around the lake on the hike/bike path.
The Course is well marked and there will be an aid station and volunteer at every point along the other races turn off the bike path.

You will make two complete loops of the course, then upon finishing your second loop, you will head back out of the Bay Point Venue, but this time make a LEFT on the path, head down to the LEFT into the finish line.

The Course is well marked and there will be an aid station and volunteer at every point along the course that turns off the bike path.

We are encouraging as many runners as possible to pick up their race packet prior to race day. This will minimize congestion on race morning prior to the start of the race.

Please do not run more than 2 across. Please be courteous of runners, walkers, & cyclists going in both directions. The path is open to others on race day. Pay attention to the parking lot entrance crossing - The cars have the right of way. We ask that you Stay to the Right & Pass on the Left.

Age group awards will be available for pickup under the Awards tent. Results are uploaded live via the ATHLINKS APP.

Surface
All Races are run on the asphalt Hike/Bike path within the park. The path is 2 way traffic. The path will be open to the public during the races.
Road Crossings
There are a few crossings of parking lot driveways. Please use caution when crossing any parking lot intersections. Do not run through these crossings assuming that the cars will stop (you should never assume the cars will stop). Slowing down momentarily (looking both ways) to ensure that you get through the crossing safely will not significantly impact your race time - it may improve it. Please be safe.

No Refunds for any reason unless Military or death in family.
As we strive to create a fair and enjoyable experience for all participants, support crew, and our dedicated team at 3 Disciplines, we have established a set of policies and rules to uphold the integrity and safety of our events.
With over 25 years of experience and expertise in producing events across 25 states and over 1300 races, our attention to detail sets us apart in the industry.
First and foremost, we maintain a zero-tolerance policy for the use of profanities or any form of verbal abuse towards anyone, including our incredible support crew and volunteers. Respect and positivity are paramount in creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all involved.
To ensure fair competition on the bike courses, blocking, drafting, and center line violations will be penalized accordingly.
Safety is our top priority, and therefore helmets are mandatory for all athletes participating on the bike course. Helmets must be securely fastened before mounting the bike.
While headphones are permitted on closed courses, they are allowed in only one ear to ensure athletes remain aware of their surroundings and fellow participants.
Filming of athletes by following them in vehicles is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification due to the potential danger it poses to everyone involved.
Regarding refunds, we understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, but refunds will only be granted in cases of death in the family or military deployment/moves. Events beyond our control, such as pandemics or emergencies, do not qualify for refunds. Event insurance is available for those seeking additional coverage in case of unforeseen circumstances. No Refunds for any reason outside of our control.
Regarding transfers, as always transfers are welcome within the SAME CALENDAR YEAR. We no longer accept deferrals or transfers to another year. You may transfer to another event within the same year before the 30 day out period, within 30 days no transfers allowed unless military or death in family for $15. You may transfer your entry to another person for that event for $15. Military deployment/transfer or death in the family will allow deferrals into the next calendar year only.
We prioritize the safety and well-being of all participants, regardless of their experience level. Decisions are made with consideration for the entire event community, and our safety record reflects our commitment to thorough planning and execution.

Stony Creek Metropark pedestrian path is predominantly flat loop around the lake. See the elevation map on the interactive race map.
