Outrun Violence 5K

Youth Collaborative is dedicated to empowering young people in our community to overcome the challenges of violence, poverty, and limited opportunities. Through mentorship, education, and enrichment programs, we provide a safe and supportive environment where youth can build skills, confidence, and positive connections.

Proceeds from the Outrun Violence 5K directly support our programs that help youth develop leadership, resilience, and pathways to success. By participating in this race, you’re not just running, you’re helping to create a safer, stronger community and giving young people the tools they need to thrive.

The race will be held at Happy Hill Park and will be an out and back course that starts/finishes on the track.

Packet Pickup will be available on Friday the day before the race at Fleet Feet Winston-Salem between 4pm and 7pm.

Packet pickup will be available on race day at Quarry Park between 7:30am and 8:45am.

The Outrun Violence 5k takes place at Jamison Park's scenic Muddy Creek Trail. The park address is 285 Meadowlark Drive, Winston Salem, NC 27106. 

This course is predominantly flat out-and-back following alongside Muddy Creek. 

Runners find this to be an easy course, great for runners and walkers. 

During this race Youth Collaborative/ Project X staff will be at the halfway/turnaround point cheering you along and providing you with water. 

At the finish line there will be water and refreshments.
