Come Run Sulphur, Louisiana!

Join us for the 18th Annual Park to Park Half Marathon, 10K, and 1K on Saturday, February 20, 2027, in Sulphur, Louisiana. Organized in partnership by Race Pace Multisport, LLC and the Sulphur High School Track & Field and Cross Country program, this event has become a cornerstone of the Southwest Louisiana running calendar.

Park to Park began in 2010 as a grassroots effort to support a local cancer patient and has since grown into Southwest Louisiana’s premier road race, bringing together runners, families, and supporters from across the region. A group of novice runners called the STARS created the event Running for Jimbo.

As the cost of participating in athletics continues to rise—now exceeding $300 per athlete—fundraisers like Park to Park are more important than ever. Proceeds from the Half Marathon and 10K support the Sulphur High School Track & Field and Cross Country programs, helping to offset costs such as uniforms, race entry fees, travel expenses, and equipment.

 

The course showcases the city of Sulphur, guiding runners past notable landmarks such as the Henning Cultural Center, West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital, and the historic City Courthouse, while also featuring the high-quality athletic facilities that define the region as a hub for youth sports.

The Start and Finish are located at Heritage Square (1015 Ruth Street) in the heart of Sulphur.

Chip Timing

The 2027 Park to Park Half Marathon and 10K will be chipped timed. The official timer and scorer for this event is Race Pace Multisport, L.L.C

Your official (chip time) finish time is recorded by the timing system from when you cross the starting line to when you cross the finish line. Results are sorted by chip time and this determines the order of finish and award winners

 

Bib Assignments

●      Each runner will be issued a bib number at Packet Pick-Up. It is the responsibility of the runner to wear the bib during the race.

●      Race bibs must be fully visible throughout the race. Bibs are to be worn on front of abdominal area throughout the race.

●      Runners without bib numbers while on the course will be removed for security reasons. An athlete who crosses finish line without bib will not receive time, medal, or awards for race.

●      If your bib is lost along the course, please report this to timing tent immediately upon completion of race.

●      Please remember to fill out the Emergency Medical Information on the bib number.

Bandits

No individual who is not officially registered may join the event, assist as unofficial pacer, or accompany any participant in the event. Any person without an official bib will be directed to leave the course immediately.

2. On your confirmation email you will receive a referral link.

3. Share this link with friends, family, and running partners encouraging them to register for the event using your code.

4. When 5 people register for Park to Park half marathon, 10K, or virtual events with your link, runsignup.com will refund $20 to your account.

5. When an additional 5 people register for Park to Park half marathon, 10K, or virtual events with your link, runsignup.com will refund an additional $20 to your account.

The Henning Cultural Center is open on Saturday to view art. Please do not park in the concreted area directly behind the Henning Cultural Center- white 2 story house.

VIP and Vendor parking only on the concreted area inside Heritage Square. 

However, carpooling is recommended. We encourage courteous behavior toward our neighbors; refrain from parking in grass or on the streets. No parking on Ruth Street, Pecan Street, or Cypress Street.

What to bring

Registered participants need photo identification and the confirmation receipt from RunSignUp.com for packet pick-up. Registered participants may also find their registration confirmation by selecting “Participant Tracking” in menu option on website. Printed copy or digital screen shots are acceptable.  Packet pickup is the only place you can pick up your registration packet.

 

Proxy Pickup
Proxy pickup is allowed for immediate family members, husband/wife/sibling, with identification and copy of participants registration confirmation. Printed copy or digital screen shots are acceptable.  

 

Late registration

Late registration is available at Packet Pickup and Race Day unless the race(s) sell out. Maximum capacity for Park to Park runs is a total of 500 participants.

 

Registration Transfer Options

All registrations and fees are non-refundable.

Life happens. So, the Park to Park run event offers a few ways to switch and save.

Need a switch? Transfer Deadline = 5:00PM on January 29, 2026.

            Transfers must be completed online and before deadline to qualify.

1. Person-to-Person Transfer: For a $5 processing fee, you may transfer your registration to another person.

2. Different Category Transfer: For a processing fee, you may change registration category. An example includes transfer from 10K to Virtual 10K. *NOTE: If transferring to an event with a lower registration fee, you will not be refunded the difference in fees. If transferring to an event with a higher registration fee, you will be required to pay the difference in fees.

3. Different year Transfer: Registrations cannot be transferred/ deferred to alternate year. Fees are non-refundable.

 Be safe!
The event is limited to 500 runners and applications accepted on a first-come/ first-served basis.
Time limit: All runners must be able to complete the course in the Half Marathon = 3.5 hours (16 minutes/mile pace), Ten Kilometers = 2 hours (19 minutes/mile pace), One Kilometer = 45 minutes 

The following actions are taken to provide runners with a safe course:
1)     City of Sulphur Police Officers are positioned along the route for your safety.
2)     One lane of traffic is coned off to runners (on Cypress Street & Maplewood Drive only) Runners must remain in the outermost lane at all times. 
3)     Volunteers are positioned along the route to monitor medical and safety concerns.
4)     Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the event including at registration area, start/finish line, and around portable toilets.
 
Runners should take the following precautions for a safe run:
1)     Wearing earbuds or listen to music while on the route is strongly discouraged as it decreases your awareness of vehicle traffic. 
2)     Pets, roller blades, skates, and scooters are not permitted along the route.
3)     Obey basic road rules and City of Sulphur Police Officers.
4)     Stay home if showing symptoms of Covid 19 or sick. Wash or sanitize hands often.

 

Cancellations

If race is cancelled due by government agencies due to Covid-19, similar public health concerns, or other reasons the following will occur:
   1. Notification of cancellation will be sent to registered participants via email and/or posted on Park to Park Facebook page. 
   2. Validly registered participants will be transferred to “Park to Park Virtual Run”. 
   3. Awards (overall, age group, etc) are not available to virtual registrants

   4. Registration fees and donations are non-refundable.

 

Covid-19 Precautions:
The Park to Park race team's #1 priority is to conduct a safe event. We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and communications from the CDC and other health authorities. Safety Guidelines for participants will be updated as we get closer to event.

The Sulphur High School Cross Country teams and Track & Field teams’ primary fundraiser. With fees for student-athletes exceeding $400, proceeds from this event are crucial in supporting our athletes by covering expenses such as uniforms, training equipment, travel costs, meet entry fees, and other necessities.

Our dedicated student-athletes volunteer their time for various event roles, including mile timers, packet pickup, medal distribution, and food service. Since 2011, this initiative has raised over $33,000 for the teams, directly enhancing the experience and opportunities available to our athletes.

depending on the intensity of the weather, be cancelled. If fog present, the visibility will determine if

delayed start is necessary. The Race Director will make the determination.

U.S. Track and Field 
The Park to Park Half Marathon is a multi-running event produced by Race Pace Multisport, LLC. This event is a sanctioned through the U.S. Track and Field (USATF). Entrants must comply with USATF rules and regulations. Results will be issued to the U.S. Track and Field upon completion of event.

Age Group Categories & Awards

Awards will be issued to the following categories for the half marathon & 10K:

●      Overall male and female

●      Overall Masters (40-49 years) male and female

●      Overall Grand Masters (50 years and older) male and female

●      Top male and female runners (1st & 2nd place & 3rd place) in each age group: 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and older.

Registered participants who finish the Park to Park half marathon & 10K within time limit will receive a unique wooden Finisher’s commemorative medal. If a registered finisher does not receive medal on race day, your medal will be mailed to address listed on registration.

  

Shirts

Shirts are provided to registered participants of the Park to Park half marathon & 10K. Shirts and specific shirt sizes are guaranteed if you register by January 16, 2027. Additional purchases of t-shirts can be made online at RunSignUp.com registration site, or Race Day if available. 

 

FREE Key Check
Participants will have an opportunity to check their keys race day. Bands will be issued in the packet. Place band through key or chain and return to Registration desk. Pick up keys after race at Finish line.

●      Travel west on I-10 toward Texas
●      Take exit 20 for LA-1256 toward LA-27 (Sulphur/Cameron exit)
●      Merge onto LA-1256/ Ruth Street
●      Travel North approximately 1 mile, destination on the right

From Texas:
●      Travel east on I-10 toward Lake Charles.
●      Take exit 20 for LA-1256 toward LA-27 (Sulphur/Cameron exit)
●      Keep left at the fork
●      Turn left onto LA-1256/ Ruth Street
●      Travel North approximately 1 mile, destination on the right

 

Parking
