About
At Pike Market Child Care and Preschool [PMCCP], we believe all children deserve access to high quality early learning and care and that all parents deserve support and the opportunity to work knowing their children are in safe, nurturing hands.
High quality means a cooked from scratch meal program meeting 70% of children’s daily nutritional needs, family partnerships in which parents help plan for their children’s development, support for families at every turn, livable wages and benefits for teachers, and comprehensive professional development to ensure we meet the highest standards.
This past year, 65% of families in our program received tuition assistance! Our Sliding Fee Scale is based on income and family size and we welcome families receiving child care subsidies, who’ve long been underserved. In 2025, we provided nearly $300,000 of tuition assistance. This makes up the difference between what subsidies reimburse and what families can afford to pay, thereby equaling the full cost of care.
To help make this possible, PMCCP will hold our 25th Walk for Kids, on Saturday, May 30th, 2026 to raise funds for our tuition assistance program and to help ensure the high quality of our program.
We’d love to have you join us for this joyous event as we parade through the Market to the new Waterfront Park for a child and family centered gathering!
At a time when many communities face division, our children are learning to view the world—and one another—with empathy, understanding, and compassion. Again and again, research affirms that high quality early learning and care has a long-lasting impact that helps children and families thrive.
