About Pints For Patapsco

The Guinness Open Gate Brewery and the Friends of Patapsco Valley State Park are proud to present the Pints for Patapsco 5K and 10K Run!

Experience the thrill of running from the iconic Open Gate Brewery to some of PVSP’s most renowned landmarks—choose the 5K route under the historic Thomas Viaduct or the 10K route featuring a crossing of the breathtaking Swinging Bridge.

Please note that there will be an untimed half-mile segment leading to the park entrance, where participants will cross the timing mat. The official timing for the 5K and 10K runs will begin at the park entrance.

ALL PROCEEDS SUPPORT PATAPSCO VALLEY STATE PARK!

NOTE: While the run is open to all ages, participants must be 21 years or older to purchase and consume alcohol. Please drink responsibly.

The 10K

A Timed 10K Race to Patapsco State Park, then you'll head back to the Guinness Open Gate Brewery for more fun!

THE COURSE:

START TIME: 8 AM

The course will start  at the Guinness Open Gate Brewery, the first Guinness brewery on American soil since 1954. The course will run along the roadways of Patapsco State Park before runners will then return to the Brewery for a family friendly post-race party.

This is a chip-timed event. Participants must finish the 10K course within 1 hour and 39 minutes (16 min/mile). Participants are welcome to run, jog, or walk, as long as they finish within the allotted time. We do allow for jogging strollers, but ask that you start at the back of of the pack. Wheelchair athletes are permitted, but due to safety concerns and safety restrictions, the wheelchair can not move faster than the fastest runner. No bikes, scooters, skateboards or other wheeled vehicles are allowed.

NOTE: Due to nuances in the route, the course will not be USATF certified.  Slight variations in the course length may occur.

The course map is TBD.

 

 

THE BEER RELEASE AFTER PARTY:

The after party AKA The best part! After completing the race, all participants will congregate together and celebrate their accomplishments of the day back at the Guinness Open Gate Brewery for the family friendly post race party. Guests will enjoy access to both inside and outside of the brewery. Image

COURSE AIDE:

We will have a medical team on site that will be able to help assess your race day medical needs and administer acute first aid when necessary.

We will have two water stops on the course to keep up your hydration. Additionally, runners are welcome to bring their own water on course with them.

The Fun Walk

This 1817 foot walk honors the first year that Guinness was shipped to America.
The family friendly walk allows you to join in on the festivities if you'd prefer not to run a longer distance.

THE COURSE:

The course will start and finish at the Guinness Open Gate Brewery, the first Guinness brewery on American soil since 1954. Participants will enjoy a leisurely jog or walk around the parking lot before returning back to the Brewery to enjoy the festivities.

We do allow for jogging strollers, but ask that you start at the back of of the pack. Wheelchairs are permitted, but due to safety concerns and safety restrictions, the wheelchair can not move faster than the fastest walker. No bikes, scooters, skateboards or other wheeled vehicles are allowed.

Like your Grandmother always used to say, THE MORE THE MERRIER!  With that in mind, the Guinness Open Gate Brew Run is giving you added incentives to build a SOCIAL TEAM and run as a group.

**With the race being sold out and registration being closed we are unable to retroactively add team members to social teams

 
SOCIAL TEAM BENEFITS

Image SOCIAL TEAMS as small as 5 people get discounted entry fees for signing up with a team, regardless of when then register. Plus teams can earn  prizes and discounts the bigger their team become. 

  Teams of 25 or more can earn special prizes or race day accommodations!

 
HOW DOES IT WORK 


When registering you will have the option to Join a Group/Team.  All Members of a SOCIAL TEAM are linked by their team name and password.  As your team grows, everyone benefits, event those who register first!  The system will automatically refund everyone on the team who has already registered and charge the new team members the new rate.   You can receive multiple refunds so as your team grows in size, you will continue to reap the benefits.

Teams of 5 or more participants in any race and everyone saves $5*
Teams of 15  or more participants in any race and everyone saves $10
Teams of 25 or more participants in any race and everyone saves $15

**Fun Walks registrations may be part of social teams, but are only eligible to get discounts until their registration fee total comes to $10
 
WHY RUN AS A SOCIAL TEAM?

Running with a friend (or a group!) really is so much more fun than running alone. Once the race is over, a team is there to celebrate, and relax after the accomplishments of the day. Plus, they’ll Imagekeep people going and motivate them to finish strong if they’re starting to feel sluggish mid-race. Teams get bonus points if they wear matching team t-shirts or costumes!

Before the race even starts, a team is a built-in training support system. A dedicated team will spend some time running together before the race starts, getting to know each member’s quirks and pace. An individual can push off or ignore scheduled training runs, but a team won’t let them get away with skipping them! Besides support, team members also make for great accountability partners, and will help members to be completely prepared come race day.
