About Portage APL Barktober 5K & 1-Mile
The race takes place at Rootstown Community Park/Gracie Fields (4104 Case Ave. Rootstown, Ohio 44272).
- The 5K starts at 11:00 am with the 1-Mile immediately following.
- The 5K is professionally chip-timed by GCXC Racing - Youngstown.

All of our efforts are funded through donations. Your donation will be used towards things like animal care, food and nutrition, toys and bedding to medical needs like spay and neuter surgeries, immunizations and rehabilitative medical care. By donating to Portage APL, you can help change the lives of our animals.
Packet Pick-Up
- Early packet pick-up takes place on Friday, October 9th from 4:00pm-6:30pm at the NEW Center, 4211 OH-44, Rootstown, OH
- Race day registration and packet-pickup take place across from Swinehart Pavilion beginning at 9:30am.
- Virtual participants who cannot pick up in-person can have their swag shipped for an additional $10.
What will I get? Guaranteed for pre-registrants only
- Race T-shirt (guaranteed if registered before September 21st). Participants can upgrade to a long sleeve shirt.
- Finisher medal (5K only).
