About Pounding the Pavement for Pink Races
Join us for our annual 5k Road Race through the streets of Seymour, Connecticut as we Pound the Pavement to fight breast cancer.
In 2012, Seymour Tradition, a nonprofit organization in our town whose focus is on teaching young girls the values of sportsmanship, teamwork and discipline, asked Seymour Pink, Inc. if we would co-host a 5K race. Seymour Pink was so excited about the offer to partner up with this fine organization. We held a naming contest in town and the 5K race Pounding the Pavement for Pink was born! In our first year, both of these non-profit organizations realized a total of $24,000. These monies have helped both Seymour Pink and Seymour Tradition advance our missions.
Now, we enter our 15th running of the Pounding the Pavement for Pink 5k. This event alone has contributed over $1.5M towards Seymour Pink's mission.
Join us in Seymour
We take the streets, lined with pink lines, spectators and decorations the first Saturday in October each year. Runners and walkers welcome.
Or from virtually anywhere!
In 2020 we introduced virtual racing to the Seymour Pink community and had over 1,600 participants across 30 states that year. After seeing pink across the country, we decided to continue offering this virtual option so that our supporters can partake no matter where they are.
If you'd like to participate virtually with us you can walk or run your miles anytime and anywhere during the 3-day virtual period of the first Friday in October through Sunday evening.
Kids Fun Run
We offer a ~ half mile Kids Run to kick off our race morning events! Children ages 8 and under can partake in this fun run in Seymour on the first Saturday in October or virtually from anywhere!

About Seymour Pink
Seymour Pink is an active grass roots organization 501(c)(3) nonprofit with many exciting community minded fundraising events ranging from an annual golf tournament at Woodhaven Country Club in Bethany, CT, charity participation in the Marine Corps Marathon races, an annual gala at the The Waterview in Monroe, CT, to our original roots with a pasta dinner fundraiser at Brookside Inn Oxford, CT. But of course, our hallmark event is the day that started it all, a day in October we proclaim as "Seymour Pink Day" where we "SEE MORE PINK" to raise awareness about this life altering disease. Seymour Pink Day occurs the third Wednesday in October each year. These amazing events are not only successful in raising funds to FIGHT breast cancer, but in bringing a community together in the FIGHT. The support for those victimized by this diagnosis is overwhelming.
Each event is an opportunity to lend support to those who battle this disease. Each event hosted by PINK or by individuals in the community, brings us closer to conquering this disease and putting cancer where it belongs: in our history books!
Please visit our website http://seymourpink.com and keep up with us on Facebook & Instagram for more updates.
