The fastest point-to-point 2.4 mile swim on the east coast. This has always been a 'rite of passage' for local swimmers "in the know," and now we've made it official!

Swimmers will swim around the southernmost point of New Jersey WITH THE CURRENT!

Join us in Victorian Cape May for an instant classic!

What can swimmers expect at this event?

• SAFE. The Cape May Beach Patrol has you covered.

• FAST. Swim WITH THE CURRENT and record your fastest 2.4mi swim ever!

• UNIQUE. There is nothing quite like swimming the shore line of Historic Cape May

• CHARITY. Portions of the proceeds will benefit the CMBP Clete Cannone Scholarship Fund

• Registration Protection? Yes. It is offered during registration.
• Can I wear a wetsuit? Of Course! 
• Average Water Temp? 75 degrees F
• What are the awards categories? Top 3 Overall for Male and Female; 19 and Under; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60+
• Is there an age requirement? No age requirement- just be a confident swimmer 
• Are swim buoys allowed? Sure Are! 
• Is there transportation from the finish? Yes- we will have a ride service from the Cove to Poverty
• Is there a bag drop? Yes, we will have a system at check in to drop your belongings and they will be waiting for you at the finish. Note- ONLY YOU will be able to pick up your belongings; we will not release your items to anyone but you 

The Cape May Beach Patrol Lifeguard Association is excited to bring back the fastest 2.4 mile open water race out there. We are looking forward to a great race with fast and, most importantly, safe swims. We loved getting feed back and are looking forward to some improvements in the race this year. Watch out for announcements through email and on our Instagram page (@cmbplifeguards) to stay up to speed including giveaways, a store to buy some unique swag and photos from last years race! 

In the event of dangerous conditions, the race directors reserve the right to change the course so that swimmer safety can be maintained. This includes, but is not limited to, extreme surf conditions, heavy fog and wind. When possible, race directors will communicate these changes in advance. In situations like fog, the race may be delayed as long as possible in hopes of fog burning off. Course changes will be discussed and communicated on the day of the race.
