Race Thru the Redwoods

The Race Thru The Redwoods starts and finishes at Roaring Camp Railroads in Felton, California.  The majority of the 10K race occurs under the majestic redwoods of Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park.  The Felton Business and Community Association and many local volunteers help manage and administer the race.

We are very excited to continue this race back for another year; with all that has gone on over this year and last, it is nice to do something that brings back fond memories and reminds us how lucky we are to be able to race, run, walk, or jog in such a lovely place. My wife and I fell in love under these trees at this race in 2013.

The race is open to anyone: runners, walkers, strollers, and joggers.

The 10k will take place on August 16th at 8:30 am.  Before the 10k, we will start the Kids Race at 8 am.  After the race, we are also delighted to host the PANCAKE breakfast sponsored by the Zayante Fire Department. Pancake Breakfast is included in your race fee. Non-participants can still enjoy a late brunch for a $10.00 fee.

If you'd like to share a picture or video of your run/walk with us.  We will create an album of all race pictures and share it via the RttRW website.

Race Thru the Redwoods is more than a run through one of the most beautiful places in the Santa Cruz Mountains — it is also the Felton Business & Community Association’s biggest annual fundraiser. Proceeds from the race help support the many free community events and traditions we are proud to bring to Felton throughout the year. Every registration helps keep these events alive, welcoming, and accessible to our neighbors, families, and visitors. Thank you for running with us, supporting our town, and helping us continue to create moments that bring the Felton community together.

Proceeds from Race Thru the Redwoods benefit Felton Fire and the Felton Business & Community Association, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit community association.

The FBCA portion of the proceeds helps fund community events and traditions in Felton, including the Memorial Day Parade, Covered Bridge Festival, Annual Tree-Lighting Ceremony, Santa Visit, and more. Everything we do is for the benefit of the Felton community, and your support helps make these activities possible.

This year we recognize our canine companions.  For those of you running with the wolves, please consider the following courtesies:

Dogs must be in good health and shape to accompany you on this race.  Check with your vet before starting!
Dogs must be on a leash (exceptions:  off leash where permissible and if you have sound recall abilities)
Please pick up after your dog!
Be considerate and always offer to yield to hikers, walkers and other trail participants

Race swag includes a t-shirt, snacks and a free pancake breakfast.   Our facebook page will list which of our local businesses and stores are participating in providing additional rewards for local racers.
