About Race to Space Marathon & Half Marathon
The race starts at the beautiful Bridge Street Town Center in Huntsville AL and runs through Cummings Research Park, the nations 2nd largest research park in the US.
We will have a Chip Timing start and several pacing groups available. The post race party will be hopping with dozens of vendors and live music!

COURSE

This isn't your average course, it is FLAT and FAST. A high energy loop where the crowd never stops cheering. We carefully designed this course so that runners feed off the electronic atmosphere from start to finish. You will feel the energy of the race the entire time surrounded by momentum, community, and filled with motivation - especially in the late stages of the race where you need it the most. You will pass by some of the largest aerospace companies that all play a part in helping us Race to Space and beyond. Finally runners will finish at the beautiful Bridge Street Town Centre and be greeting with post race party, live music and plenty of carbs post race.

2026 The winner of the Race to Space Marathon AND Half Marathon will receive $500 establishing the new course records. Beginning in 2027 the course record for both men and women will reset at $100 and increase $100 each year after that the record is isn't broken.
PACKET PICKUP
Packet Pickup will be at RunningLane on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday March 18-20th from 11-6PM.

There will be packet pickup on SATURDAY (race morning) March 21st, 2026 from 6-6:45am for the 5K. If you live locally please please please make sure you pick up on Friday as the race will start at 7:00am sharp and there may be long lines!

There will be packet pickup on SUNDAY (race morning) March 22nd, 2026 from 5:45-6:45am. If you live locally please please please make sure you pick up early in the week as the race will start at 7:00am sharp and there may be long lines!
SHIRTS & AWARDS & CUTOFFS
We will have a long sleeve technical shirt. These are silky smooth and comfortable! The first 1000 runners to register are guaranteed the long sleeve tech shirt. 1001 - onwards will still receive a Race to Space Marathon & Half Marathon shirt but may not get the long sleeve technical shirt so don't delay!
Age group awards will be: 12-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
ALL runners will receive a SWEET finisher medal & shirt!
The course time limit is 4 hours for the Half Marathon (This works out to be 18:19/ mile pace) and 6 hours for the Marathon. ALL Marathon runners must start their second loop before 2 hours and 50 minutes in order to continue on. For those who don't get to the Half Marathon/ Marathon split at mile 12.9 before 2 hours and 50 minutes will be redirected to the Half Marathon finish and will still receive a finisher medal and count towards the Half Marathon results. These are strict time cutoffs due to road closures and permits.
For those who register for the Saturday 5K they will also receive a t-shirt AND additional finisher medal! That's right, even if you sign up for the Marathon or Half Marathon on Sunday, you will receive an additional t-shirt (different design below coming soon) and finisher medal (also different design) for those medal collectors!
Age group awards for the Saturn V 5K will be: 0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
