About Raging River Relay

Raging River Relay is a one-day, women-only relay race covering 40 miles along Spokane’s scenic Centennial Trail. Teams of 5 take turns running legs through riverside forests, rolling hills, and the heart of Spokane’s beauty.

Volunteers

Interested in volunteering for our relay event? Contact the Race Director to join our volunteer list. 

Please note, each team needs to provide two volunteers for the event. If you’re unable to provide a volunteer, you have the option to hire one for $100. 

Volunteer Role Description

We couldn’t make this race happen without our amazing volunteers!
For the Raging River Relay, we’re looking for volunteers who can:

  • Be reliable & punctual – arrive at your assigned location on time and ready to help.
  • Be encouraging & friendly – cheer on runners, answer basic questions, and help create a positive, welcoming atmosphere.
  • Support runner safety – direct participants at turns or intersections, keep an eye out for hazards, and communicate with the race director if issues arise.
  • Stay for the full shift – shifts are typically 2–4 hours depending on the exchange location.
  • Follow instructions – help with tasks like handing out slap bracelets, marking off completed legs, refilling water stations, or monitoring the course.
