Rally for Research

On Saturday, April 4th at 4 PM, the Harvard Tech and Global Health Initiative is hosting a 5k for participants to run/walk in support of cancer research! The funds raised from participants’ entries and donations go directly towards the American Association for Cancer Research, Mass General Cancer Center, and Christopher’s Haven Boston. 

Schedule:

2 PM - Participants should begin checking in for their bibs. Check in is located at Christian A Herter Park by the start/finish area (see course map below).

3:45 PM - Final Call for Check in, Pre-Race Acknowledgements and Address Speech

4 PM - Race Start!

4:45 PM- Awards Ceremony!

Transportation and Parking

Starting Location
The event begins right before the Jamaica Pond Boathouse.

Public Transportation Options
By Subway (T):
Orange Line: Stony Brook Station is about a 15-20 minute (roughly 1000m) walk from the starting point.

Green Line (E Branch): The Heath Street stop at S Huntington Ave is also approximately a 15-20 minute (1000m) walk to the event.

Green Line (D Branch): Brookline Village Station is around 1500m away, requiring a 20-25 minute walk.

By Bus:
Take the 39 bus to the S Huntington Ave & Perkins St stop. From there, walk about 400m down Perkins St, cross Jamaicaway, and continue toward the starting location.

Walking & Biking Access
The start area is conveniently accessible via the Emerald Necklace bike and pedestrian path. Nearby roads and parking areas also provide short walking distances to the event site.

Driving & Parking Information
Parking Lot at Pond Ave:
From Route 9, drive south on Pond Ave for about 1000m. The parking lot will be on the left near Harry Downes Field.

Parking Lot at Willow Pond Road:
From Route 9, head south on Jamaicaway, then take the first right onto Willow Pond Rd. The parking lot is located on the right, adjacent to Daisy Field baseball field.

Additional Parking:
Street parking is available along Moraine St on the west side of the pond.
Additional lots are located at Jamaica Pond Parking (Willow Pond Road, Boston, MA 02130) and off Pond Ave (Brookline, MA 02445). Both are within a 200-300m walking distance from the start/finish area.
