About the Cause

The REAL LIFE 5K/10K exists to provide a high-quality annual running event while supporting Real Life Community Outreach.

Real Life Community Outreach is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to serving our community with compassion through food assistance, vocational training, and kids camps in low-income neighborhoods.

All proceeds from this event directly support their charitable work.

Walking

Walkers are welcome in all 3 divisions of the REAL LIFE 5k! Please note that the competitive chip-timed division awards are not separated between walkers and runners, yet all are welcome to enter; use this registration option if you would like an official chip-timed result. The untimed Fun Run/Walk division is also open to walkers; this division starts at 6:35pm and the course closes at 8:15pm for all divisions. Our Virtual Option is on-your-honor, with no time limit. 

Terrain and Shoes

Road shoes are recommended for this race. Participants will start and end on asphalt, will cross the clay outer-track, run just short of a mile on the grass inner-track in the middle of the race (think cross-country), and then return by crossing the clay and finishing on asphalt. The course is flat with a total ascent of 30 feet. Photos of the terrain can be found under the "Photos" section. If you are an adaptive athlete, please contact the Race Director at rd@reallife.org if you would like to discuss the terrain in further detail.

Restrooms

The Real Life Center offers more than 30 indoor flush-toilets at the start/finish line. There is one porta-potty located roughly .25 mile from start/finish for bathroom emergencies.

Strollers and Dogs

Strollers and dogs are not permitted at this race, due to our time on the thoroughbred track. Thank you for your understanding. 

All proceeds of this event go to support the food pantry at Real Life Community Outreach
