FAQ

FAQs
What is a virtual race? Republic Airways ‘Remaining Connected’ virtual race is a way to help promote health and wellness and provide a way for us to motivate and connect with our Associates, partners and communities!

How does a virtual race work? Simply Register, track hour distance and watch the miles take off! Be sure to join the Remaining Connected group on Facebook for tips on staying healthy, fun activities and more!

Can anyone participate and is there an age requirement? Yes! This initiative was to connect our Associates, families, friends, neighbors, and communities.  Young or old, fast or slow – we encourage participants of all ages and ability levels. We encourage parents to register their children so they can participate also as a fun way to stay healthy!

Do I have to run?  No, we want to encourage you to do any activity that you like! This initiative is about providing you with the motivation to achieve your personal goals, whatever those may be. You can log activities such as walking, biking, basketball, hiking, yoga, swimming and so much more.

Is there a cost to register? No, registration is free for all participants!

When is the race period? The activity tracking period is between July 11 - July 27, 2025.

Do I have to be registered by June 14th in order to participate? We highly encourage you to register prior to June 14, but you can register up until the final race day. We want to ensure you have the ability to participate and enter your mileage, even if you can't register by the start date.

If I do activities other than running/walking how do I track mileage? Please refer to the conversion chart to match your activity with the corresponding mileage. We want to have a standard way to track so please always use this chart and try and track/enter your mileage daily or after your activity.

What is the distance and do I have to do the entire distance by myself? The route passes through all of our Republic Airways bases and is 3,715 miles. You can do as much or as little as you want individually but with the compilation of all participants miles, our goal is to complete 3,715 miles.  Set your goal – whatever that may be – and go out and accomplish it!

How do we know when the route has been completed? The map tracker on the main page will automatically update and show the location as individual mileage is entered.

What if we do more than 3,715 miles? We definitely want to encourage going over the goal distance!  If we do more than our original goal distance, our new goal will be HOW MANY times we can complete the route

Do I have to complete my own individual distance all at once? No, we want to motivate you to do an activity every day during this two week period.

How do I track my distance and time my run? We accept results on the honor system, so you can track your distance and time however you like. The most accurate way to do this is by using a Running GPS watch, but there are also several free smartphone apps available for iPhones and Android devices that you may be interested in. You will be asked to upload your results daily to move us along the route. To submit your results, please log into your RunSignUp Account.  Select Republic Airway:  Remaining Connected event.  Click on Submit Virtual Results. Submit new activity. Mange Activities - see a total of your entries, click on and edit entries

Why can I not see who has registered already? You will be able to see who is registered once the race starts on June 14 and individuals start entering their mileage.

How do I register multiple people? After adding the first registration to your cart, return to the registration page and add the next one and so on. You can then proceed to the checkout screen.

When will I receive my digital race bib? Digital versions of these bibs are free and for your enjoyment. They are not required for you to complete your activity but they are fun to wear for photos and a little extra motivation. They are available for download and can be accessed and printed at home at any time from the site!  You can access your bib by logging into your RunSignUp profile, select the Republic Airways: Remaining Connected Event, on the right ride will be a link to print your pre-race bib.

Submitting your activities by uploading a STRAVA or GARMIN File Via Activity File

RunSignup now supports the ability for participants to submit their virtual results by uploading their GPS activity recorded while using third party types of tracking tools. Participants record their activities for Virtual Events on a multitude of devices and platforms. Two very common formats of data are GPX and FIT, which services like Garmin and Strava use to store activity data.

We now give users the ability to quickly and easily enter in their activity data by selecting a GPX or FIT file from their computer. Their personalized data will automatically fill in, including the Distance, Date, Elevation Gain, and Time fields from the activity file being submitted.

This feature is available to all users without any need to enable it on the back end. Participants will see a Load Activity from File button while logging their Activity which they can click to open up a panel to submit a file.

After clicking the Load Activity from File button, a panel will slide out allowing you to browse for a file on your computer or mobile device. After browsing for and selecting the Activity Data file, the fields for Date Completed, Distance in Miles, Elevation Gain, and Time will fill in automatically. The participant then clicks Submit.

You can learn how to export Activity data from Strava here and Garmin Connect here.

You can also manually grab a file from a Garmin device itself by following these instructions:

Hit Browse
Navigate to /Garmin/garmin/activities
Select the apropriate activity file ending in .fit
This is just one of the many ways participants can submit virtual results when races enable RunSignup’s RaceDay Virtual Results.
