Ride the Hurricane 2026

Each year on the first Sunday in August, cyclists have the extraordinary opportunity to ride the iconic Hurricane Ridge road when it is closed to all motor vehicles. Starting the round-trip ride at sea level from the Port Angeles City Pier, cyclists ascend through the Olympic National Park, past old growth fir, distant glaciers, and Alpine Meadows, to the stunning viewpoints of Hurricane Ridge. 

Ride Registration includes entry to a car-free ride up Hurricane Ridge Road, which is closed to motor vehicles during the event, seven aid stations with a variety of snacks (including our famous Ride the Hurricane truffles), bike mechanic services, EMT on standby, and emergency radio services along the route. It also includes the After Party on the Pier, with a taco bar catered by local favorite Little Devil's Lunchbox, draft beer, and other refreshments. All is included in your registration! You'll have the opportunity to purchase additional tickets for non-cycling guests for the Party on the Pier during registration. 

Ride the Hurricane 17 is in the books, and it was the best one ever! Thanks to all the amazing cyclists, sponsors, and volunteers who came together to make this a truly special event. Registration for next year will open in March, and if you rode this year or were on the waiting list, you'll get a special invitation to register before it opens to the public.
