RRRC 49th Annual Turkey Trot 10k & 5k, presented by Wegmans

The Richmond Road Runners Club will host a Turkey Trot 10k, 5k, and a half mile Kids Run on Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, 26 November 2025 at Bryan Park. This is the second year with the new 10k route! The 5k route may seem familiar.

The half mile Kids Run will begin at 8:30 AM. 
The 10k will begin at 9:00 AM.
The 5k will begin at 9:30 AM.

There will also be a virtual Turkey Trot 10k  and 5k option that will take place over Thanksgiving weekend for those who can't make the in-person race. 

This race does sell out so be sure to get your spot early! If your schedule changes, you are in charge of your registration! Make sure you cancel by logging in to your RSU account or sending us an email at turkeytrot10k@rrrc.org so the next person on the waiting list can take that spot.

10k participants will run through Bryan Park, head out the back and meander through the adjoining neighborhood, then head back to the finish via the outer loop in the park. We were able to extend the section out of the park this year thanks to a helpful and ecstatic Henrico County Police force!

COURSE RULES for both distances

THIS RACE IS CUPLESS; however, there will be some cups on tables as well as handed out by volunteers for your hydration ease. We do encourage participants to provide their own personal hydration vessel. There will be TWO water refill stations provided on the course; one for the 5k, two for the 10k.

You are responsible for your own safety. BE ALERT at all times. Keep an eye on traffic (vehicles, pedestrians, bicycles, etc.). Pay attention to your fellow participants, course marshals, volunteers, police, etc. Help each other stay safe!

This is a road race conducted under the rules of USATF and RRCA. To enjoy all that our race has to offer and for the safety of all participants, RRRC encourages a headphone-free environment during the running of the Turkey Trot 10K. However, if you must use them please keep the volume low and only use one. 

5k participants will stay mostly inside the park with a bit being just outside on Bryan Park Blvd.

• Wednesday, November 26 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Final Gravity Brewing Co (6118 Lakeside Ave, Richmond, VA 23228)

RACE MORNING (Thursday, November 28)

• 7:30 AM: Race day pick up at Bryan Park Shelter #3 (in parking lot across from the soccer fields)

• 8:30 AM: 1/2 mile Kid's Run starts

• 9:00 AM: 10k starts

• 9:15 AM: 5k starts

VIRTUAL SCHEDULE 

• Thursday, November 28 the Virtual Turkey Trot 10k starts and results submission window opens. 

• Sunday, November 30 the final day to complete your Virtual Turkey Trot 10k and submit your virtual results.

The Kids Run is open to those 2-10 years old.

Can be completed either in person and virtually.

EVENT RULES

The minimum age to participate in the Turkey Trot 5k or 10k is 6 years old on or before race day.

This is a walker, jogger, runner, everything in between friendly. Strollers are allowed, but we ask that you start at the back. Be careful passing and coming up on your fellow participants.

There is a two and a half (2.5) hour time limit which is about a pace of 19 minute per mile.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Registrations can only be transferred to another runner via the wait list. If we catch you transferring a bib to another runner without permission, you will be banned.
