RRRC Volunteers for Lakewood Alzheimer's 5K Run/Walk

This 5K Run/Walk is to raise money for the Alzheimer's Association.  Team Lakewood, which is comprised of residents and staff of the Lakewood Retirement Community is the top fundraiser in the history of Richmond's Walk to End Alzheimer's.  In 2022 we ranked 33rd nationwide in the event, which had over 52,000 teams.  We hope to raise over $50,000 this year to support this organization, which supports persons living with Alzheimer's, their caregivers and research.  You can help find a cure by participating in our first annual Lakewood/Alzheimer's 5K! 100% of the net profit from this race will be donated to the Alzheimer's Association.

Richmond Road Runners Club provides finish line services for the 5K under contract with the race organizers.

Richmond Road Runners Club's mission is to support running and healthy lifestyles in the Richmond Region. We do this by sponsoring races in our area, helping other organizations put on races, coaching training teams, supporting kids' running programs, supporting a variety of group runs and awarding academic scholarships to college-bound runner athletes.

RRRC is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that sponsors nearly 20 races each year with distances ranging from 3 miles to half marathon. Club members are runners or those looking to become runners, who are of all paces, ages and shapes. With over 2,500 members, RRRC is one of the largest running clubs in the United States.
