About Run for Hope 5K
Enjoy a flat, scenic course through the Riverside Area of Elizabeth City with views of the Pasquotank River. All proceeds from this event will provide services for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence through Albemarle Hopeline, Inc. Hopeline has been serving survivors in northeast North Carolina for 40 years. Learn more about the mission at www.albemarlehopeline.org .
Registration: $30 - you can register online through 8:45am on the day of the race!
T-shirts: Participants who sign up by March 23rd can add on a t-shirt for just $5!

Timing:
Please note that this race is manually timed by volunteers (NOT chip-timed). Race timing will end 45 minutes after the race start so that medals can be awarded.
Runner/Walker Check-in: Starts at 8am on raceday. Please check in by 8:45am so we can begin the race on time!

General Event FAQ
Can children participate?
All children ages 12 and under must be accompanied on the racecourse at all times by a registered adult. Please note that the race course is not closed to vehicular traffic.
Can I run with my dog?
Well-mannered dogs on leash are welcome. Dogs displaying aggressive or disruptive behavior will not be permitted, and no refunds will be issued to the owners in this circumstance.
Can I run with a stroller?
Absolutely, but please be advised that there are not sidewalks on the entirety of the course, and the course is not closed to vehicular traffic. Participants who choose to run with strollers should know that they will be running, at times, in an active roadway open to cars.
Can I walk?
Sure! Runners and walkers of all abilities are welcome to participate.
What if it rains?
This event is rain or shine, and no refunds will be given due to inclement weather. Only extreme weather which could impact the safety of runners and volunteers will result in cancellation of the event.
Where should I park?
Please note that Riverside Avenue will be CLOSED at 8am the morning of the race. There will be NO runner parking available at Charles Creek Park. Participants can park at Coast Guard Park (formerly called Dog Corner Park), Waterfront Park (NOT in the boat trailer parking), or in the large public lot at the corner of Ehringhaus Street and McMorrinne Street. Please do not park at the Museum of the Albemarle. You can find more information about downtown parking options here.
Is this event chip-timed?
This event will not offer chip-timing, but finishing times will be recorded by race volunteers and medals awarded accordingly. Official timing will end after 45 minutes so that medals can be awarded.
