RUN(317) - Mass Ave

The RUN(317) Series celebrates the unique people, neighborhoods, businesses and charities of the (317)!  RUN(317) Mass Ave is the forth in the 5 race Series. Participants can register for as many races in the series as their schedules allow them. Each Thursday Night run is followed by a high energy post-race party sponsored by Arthur Murray Dance Center featuring DJ Iman, local craft beer, food, games and community partners. 

On Thursday, July 30th, we are excited to have runners/walkers from all over the Indianapolis area spend their evening on Mass Ave. The race starts at 7 p.m. 

Participants can choose to run/walk or virtually do a 3.17 mile course through the streets of the Indianapolis. Starting and ending on beautiful Mass Ave, this flat, fast courses feature views of historic neighborhoods through Vibrant Indianapolis.

RUN(317) will be donating a portion of the proceeds from the Mass Ave event to the Girls on the Run.

For those joining us virtually, we will be using the Free RaceJoy App to instantly upload your RUN(317) miles!  Run, utilizing the RaceJoy App, July 31st, 2025, or utilize your favorite monitoring device and manually upload your results.  Only times uploaded through RaceJoy will qualify for the Beat the Clock competition.

Q. Where do I pick up my packet the day before the race?

Q. Can I Pick-Up A Packet for A Friend?
A.  Yes! You can pick-up a packet for a friend - just be sure to let your friend know that you are doing it prior to packet pick-up!

Q. I have a friend who cannot participate in the event. Can I take his/her place?
A. Each participant must have his/her own registration. In the event of an emergency, race officials must have emergency contact information on hand, therefore, you are NOT allowed to participate using someone else’s registration. There are NO exceptions to this policy.

Q. Where are the water stations? 
A. One water station will be located approximately halfway through the course as well as the Start/Finish Line.

Q. Will there be food or restaurants?
A.  We encourage participants to support many of the local restaurants near by. 

Q. What are the award divisions?
A. Top 3 Male and Top 3 Female prizes will be awarded for those who participate in the live event. There are no age group awards.

Q. Is there an age limit?
A. No! Bring the whole family!

Q. Are strollers and/or dogs permitted?
A. Dogs are not allowed on the course for safety reasons. Strollers are permitted but must start in the last corral for safety reasons.

Q. May walkers participate?
A. Yes! There is a 20 minute/mile minimum pace on the course.

Q. Can I redeem my beer/wine/seltzer/ tickets for something other than alcohol?
A.  Yes! The beer/wine/seltzer tickets can be redeemed on race site for a non-alcoholic beverage at the Athletic Annex tent.

Q. Can I get a refund or transfer?
A. There are no refunds or transfers for RUN(317). There are no transfers between individual races as well.

Race packets & purchased merchandise are available for pick-up during packet pick up (unless you paid to have it sent to you).  Packet Pick-ups are as follows:
Day before the Race:  Athletic Annex, Nora Location, 2 pm - 6 pm
Race Day: Race Site, 5:30 - 6:45 pm

RaceJoy / Submitting Results / Beat the Clock
Download the RaceJoy App to complete your race either on the course or anywhere you choose to run!  All virtual participants participating in Beat the Clock must use the RaceJoy app to qualify.

On Thursday, August 1st, we are excited to host participants from all over Central Indiana for our unique, high-energy running event! This RUN(317) event is designed to showcase Mass Ave during a 3.17 mile run/walk. Starting at 7pm, our participants will travel a course through the bustling atmosphere of the beautiful Mass Avenue, near Northside, Lockerbie Square and Bottleworks District areas.

 

Once they have completed their run/walk, we will be encouraging all participants to experience the bars, restaurants, and shops of the Mass Ave and Bottleworks area. These events are designed to promote the neighborhoods of 317 and we are excited to show participants a glimpse of what Mass Avenue has to offer!

 

Event Info

Number of Participants: 2,200 participants, 100 volunteers
Event Time: Start/Finish will be at 800 block of Mass Ave from 7:00 pm-9:00 pm, with clean-up finished by 9:30 pm. 
Race Time: The race will begin at 7:00 pm completed by 8:10 pm. See information below or accompanying map for specific information regarding your area of the course. 
Partial Road Closures: Participants will be running and walking on one half of the road around some of the course. Some areas will be temporarily closed. If you have plans on race evening, please be aware that alternate routes may need to be taken that night.
