About RUN(317) - Speedway
The RUN(317) Series celebrates the unique people, neighborhoods, businesses and charities of the (317)! RUN(317) Speedway is the last in the 5 race Series. Participants can register for as many races in the series as their schedules allow them. Each Thursday Night run is followed by a high energy post-race party sponsored by Arthur Murray Dance Center featuring a DJ, local craft beer, food, games and community partners.
On Thursday, August 20th, 2026, we are excited to have runners/walkers from all over the Indianapolis area spend their evening in Speedway. The race starts at 7 p.m.
Participants can choose to run/walk or virtually do a 3.17 mile course through the streets of the Speedway. Starting and ending on beautiful Main Street, this flat, fast courses feature views of historic neighborhoods and the World Famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

For those joining us virtually, we will be using the Free RaceJoy App to instantly upload your RUN(317) miles! Run, utilizing the RaceJoy App, August 20th, 2026, or utilize your favorite monitoring device and manually upload your results. Only times uploaded through RaceJoy will qualify for the Beat the Clock competition.

COVID SAFETY PLAN
Please find below our COVID-19 Mitigation Plan as approved by the Marion County Health Department effective June 21, 2021.
- We will be doing a wave start to limit the number of people on the course at one time. Waves will be limited to 100 participants per wave.
- Limited capacity of the event to 50%
- There will be dots on the ground every 6ft to mark where participants should stand at the start.
- Masks are required for unvaccinated participants. If you are fully vaccinated, you are not required to wear a mask.
- We will have hand sanitizer at multiple locations: Start/Finish line, info desk, and the hand washing station near the port-o-lets.
- We will be providing bottle water for the water station on the course instead of cups of water.
- Finish line food will be pre-package and spread out on tables to have participants grab.
- We ask participants to stay home if they are sick or are part of a vulnerable population (individuals age 65 and older, individuals who are immunocompromised, and individuals of all ages with serious underlying medical conditions), engage in social distancing, and increase hand washing
- We will be encouraging people to social distance.

Q. Can I Pick-Up A Packet for A Friend?
A. Yes! You can pick-up a packet for a friend - just be sure to let your friend know that you are doing it prior to packet pick-up!
Q. I have a friend who cannot participate in the event. Can I take his/her place?
A. Each participant must have his/her own registration. In the event of an emergency, race officials must have emergency contact information on hand, therefore, you are NOT allowed to participate using someone else’s registration. There are NO exceptions to this policy.
Q. Where are the water stations?
A. One water station will be located approximately halfway through the course as well as the Start/Finish Line.
Q. Will there be food or restaurants?
A. Our sponsor Lou Malnati's will be on site selling pizza by the slice. We also encourage participants to support many of the local restaurants near by.
Q. What are the award divisions?
A. Top 3 Male and Top 3 Female prizes will be awarded for those who participate in the live event. There are no age group awards.
Q. Is there an age limit?
A. No! Bring the whole family!
Q. Are strollers and/or dogs permitted?
A. Dogs are not allowed on the course for safety reasons. Strollers are permitted but must start in the last corral for safety reasons.
Q. May walkers participate?
A. Yes! There is a 20 minute/mile minimum pace on the course.

Q. Can I redeem my beer/wine/seltzer/ tickets for something other than alcohol?
A. Yes! The beer/wine/seltzer tickets can be redeemed on race site for a non-alcoholic beverage at the Athletic Annex tent.
Q. Can I get a refund or transfer?
A. There are no refunds or transfers for RUN(317). There are no transfers between individual races as well.

RUN(317) is thrilled to be running through the beautiful Town of Speedway
on the evening of Thursday, September 26.
On Thursday, September 26th, we are excited to have runners/walkers from all over the Indianapolis area spend their evening in Speedway. The RUN(317) series is designed to showcase different cities within the (317) area code. This will be our 5th year in Speedway to showcase all that Speedway has to offer.
Starting at 7 p.m., participants will run (or walk) 3.17 miles through Speedway.
RUN(317) is proud to be a part of the (317) area code community of Indiana. The run/walk is not only helping people become active and exercise, but it has committed to support a different charity at each event. RUN(317) will be donating a portion of the proceeds from the Speedway event to the Speedway Lions Club and is proud to have the support of many of the local businesses who will also be donating to the cause.
The 3.17-mile event the evening of Thursday, September 26 will need to have some temporary street restrictions:
· Number of Expected Participants: 1,800, 100 volunteers
· Race Time: The race will begins at 7:00 pm and completed by 9:00 pm. See information below or accompanying map for specific information regarding your area of the course.
· Partial Road Closures: Participants will be running and walking on the entire road, or one half of the road around some of the course. Some areas will be temporarily closed. If you have plans on race evening, please be aware that alternative routes may be needed to be taken that night.
