Activity Files
Since competitive races can have many people with similar times, it is important to be as fair as possible. This means using generated activity files. An activity file (GPX, FIT, TCX) can be generated from several apps and GPS devices. There are numerous tutorials on YouTube with instructions.
Examples of trackers:
- Apple Watch
- Garmin GPS devices
- MapMyRun App
- Strava
Still unsure how to use an activity file?
After completing the run take a screenshot of your tracking application showing time and distance covered. Any tracking application works. Examples: Apple watch, Fitbit phone app, Nike Run Club, Run Keeper, Map My Run, etc. If the race times need additional validation, this screenshot will be required by the race directors.
Still need help?
For more help, please see the RunSignup support section. This has detailed instructions for several submission methods and details for using different activity tracking options.
