The Running of the Turkeys is everyone's favorite Thanksgiving Day tradition!!
ALL registered participants get a cool turkey swag item!
Registration for the timed 5K includes an awesome blend long sleeve shirt.
This event is fun for the whole family! Events include the timed 5K and the untimed Family Fun Walk/Run (2 miles).
Strollers are welcome and so are leashed pets!
Registration is required to participate for all humans 7 and up.

5K Run/Walk (Timed) & 2 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk (Untimed)
*See the 5K course map below, as well as turn by turn directions for both the 5K timed event and the 2-mile family fun walk/run. The course is completely closed to vehicle transportation and entirely paved, making it a perfect event for all!
With safety and fun in mind for all participants we have updated our course routes. The start and finish for all events has moved into Jaycee Park! This brings all the energy of the start/finish, pooch parade, awards and engagement into ONE fun filled space! These updates will provide YOU with a better race day experience.

NEW ROUTE FOR 2025! Our timed participants will compete on a new route, which will have the 5K participants starting at the same location as the 2-mile course but will head in the opposite direction towards Jaycee Park and run counterclockwise.

Can I register on race day?
You can register race day if we don't sell out! Visit registration/ packet pickup table prior to race start.
What can expect on the course?
The live event is at Greensboro's Country Park. Limited to 1500 participants. Bring the whole family and the pups. Pet-friendly and strollers are welcome!
Can I walk the event?
We love our walkers. We ask walkers to be aware that course time limits are race specific. For road races, we ask for a 16 min./mile pace. If you fall below this pace, we can unfortunately no longer guarantee course support—which is paramount for your safety. Aid stations, medical support, portable toilets, and road closures will start to become unavailable to participants. The local police and race organizers will ask you to reroute to a shorter version of the course or move up onto the sidewalk where you will be required to obey regular traffic laws.
Can I check in my gear/ personal belongings?
Yes, gear check will be available for this event.
Where are the aid stations?
Race participants will receive hydration and/or nutrition at the following course locations:

Are strollers allowed?
Running baby strollers are allowed but must have a minimum of 6″ wheels.

What is your race day cancellation policy?
In the event the race should be canceled for reasons beyond the control of the Race Director or Race Committee (inclement weather or unsafe weather conditions; local, state or national emergency), refunds will not be made, but race packets, including race shirts, will be available at a location to be determined.
What if I am registered and cannot participate or need to make a change to my registration?
We do not offer refunds. We do offer race insurance for purchase through a third party. Who offer other options. Please view our "Race Protection Policy" tab for more details.
Can I run with my pet or use inline skates?
Yes! Bring your pet to enjoy race day with you, but please be responsible and clean up after your furry friend! We do not allow, bicycles, inline skates or any means of transportation other than running, walking or wheelchairs. Race Director reserves the right to reject any entry or to remove any participant from the race course without explanation.

To make race day as smooth as possible for all runners, staff, and volunteers, we are requesting runners to pick up packets (race number, shirt, swag) before race day at one of our early pick-ups listed above. Runners can pick up multiple packets for friends and family.

We do understand some will not be able to make early pick up. For those absolutely unable to make pre-race pick up we permit limited race day pick up between the hours of 7:30AM & 8:30AM. This pick up is only for those who CANNOT attend Tuesday or Wednesday pick up.
Parking
Location: Jaycee Park, 3802 Jaycee Park Dr, Greensboro, North Carolina
Race Parking is extremely limited, please plan to carpool with fellow race participants, family and friends. From Pisgah Church Rd. turn onto Forest Lawn Drive. Continue on Forest Lawn-stay to the right. Event is located through the parking lots-farthest from Pisgah Church Road. Event is walking distance from parking lots and volunteers will be onsite to direct traffic until all lots are full for Option #1. Once full, participants must park at Option #2. The following parking areas are available:
Option #1: Jaycee Park (event location): 200 spaces available; first come, first serve. Additional parking next to the Lewis Recreation Center (3110 Forest Lawn Drive) and at Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church (small lot across from Lewis Rec Center).

Option #2: Greensboro Science Center (4301 Lawndale Dr, Greensboro, NC 27455) approximately 200 spaces (approximately 1/2 mile walk to race site) DO NOT PARK IN THE FIRST LOT ON YOUR LEFT. YOU RISK BEING TOWED AS THIS IS NOT A CITY OWNED LOT.

Your pet, with you leading, is invited to strut their stuff this Thanksgiving at the Running of the Turkey's Event!
Participation is free of charge for any pooch of a registered participant.

Deadline to register is Sunday, November 24.
No race day pooch registration.
Check in your pooch from 7:30 am - 9:45 am at the Junction 311 tent/event registration table.
You MUST check in by 9:45 am or risk missing the pooch parade!
You and your pooch will be announced- one by one- beginning at 10:00 am and asked to walk the red carpet on the way to picking up your pet prize. Final details and confirmation will be sent 48 hours prior to the event.
Please note, only those pooches check in at the registration tent on race day will be announced.

Race Protection Policy
At Junction 311, we love our community of runners and walkers and we value creating memorable race experiences for all. Part of that experience is giving you peace of mind when you register, because we understand that life can throw you unexpected curve balls. We are proud to offer a few options if for some reason you are not able to participate in the event after registering. Please note, we do not offer refunds.
Our Race Protection Policy allows you to choose from the following:
- You may purchase RegShield, a registration protection option for event participants who can opt-in to purchase with one click during checkout. Participants will be reimbursed the cost of their registration price, should they be unable to attend their event due to several covered reasons including accident, illness and family emergency. You must purchase during registration and there is not an option to add this option after payment confirmation. You will get an email directly from RegShield regarding filing any claims.
- You may defer your registration to participate with us in the same race the following year for a $10 change fee for any reason up to 72 hours prior to race day. Click “manage registration” in your RunSignUp profile to choose this option or visit this link for step-by-step directions. Deferrals are valid ONE YEAR from original registration and only used once. NO EXCEPTIONS.
- You may transfer your race registration to another individual. Click “manage registration” in your RunSignUp profile to choose this option or visit this link for step-by-step instructions.
- You may switch to a shorter race distance within the same event. Click “manage registration” in your RunSignUp profile to choose this option. Follow this link for step-by-step directions. If you would like to switch from a shorter race distance to a longer distance within the same event you must contact our customer service at info@junction311.com You will be responsible for any price difference.
- You may transfer your registration to another race within the Junction 311 portfolio of events. When transferring to a different race, the registrant will be credited for their original amount minus the transfer processing fee. This credit can be used to cover the event cost in the new event.

PLEASE BE ADVISED: The cut off for teams to qualify for the reserved race day space and/or the packet pick up VIP treatment is 12:00 PM on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. While participants can still register and may join your team we will NOT be able to pull the late registration bibs to be picked up with the team OR will we be able to adjust the reserved space for race day set up.

Timing and result information:
- Only the 5K
- Run/Walk is a chipped timed event and eligible for awards. The chips are located on the rear of the race bibs and assigned to a specific bib, event and athlete. Please wear you bib in a visible location on the front of your person. Please avoid the start/finish unless you are starting or finishing your race.
- Should you require any alteration to your registration, including dropping in race distance or bib transfer you MUST see event staff in order to guarantee accurate results.
- Results can be found by scanning the QR codes posted throughout the event, with your mobile device.
