About RunTough for Team Owen 2026
In 2020, six-year-old Owen fought bravely against DIPG, an aggressive and incurable brain tumor after a nearly six-month battle. Join us in honoring his strength and infectious giggle in hopes of creating a brighter outcome for other kiddos who face this terrible disease.
Run with us on September 12th, 2026. This run is virtual, you can run wherever you like! More info will be sent about the logistics of the virtual run after registration. We're also aiming for some fun surprises for those who run locally, so stay tuned for more details!
There are a few ways you can support Team Owen:
All proceeds will go to ChadTough Defeat DIPG Foundation, whose mission is to inspire and fund game-changing research to discover effective treatments for pediatric brain cancer, with an emphasis on Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG).

Block Party & Routes
The race is virtual, meaning you can run/walk/bike anywhere. However, for those who want to come to Oak Park, see below for some suggested routes and then join the block party at the St. Giles School Gym (1034 Linden Ave) between the hours of 10 am – 7:30 pm tomorrow.
If you are running outside the area please remember to post pics and/or your route (extra points if you run a course in the letter O) with hashtag #owentough2024 or email teamowen@shaker.com.
Northside O, Option 1: Start at Grove and Berkshire, run north to LeMoyne, east to Elmwood, south on Elmwood to Erie, west on Erie to Grove, then north again to the start.
Northside O, Option 2: Start at Grove and Berkshire, run north to LeMoyne, east to Taylor, south on Taylor to Augusta, then west on Augusta to Grove and back north to the start.
Mid/South OP Option: Start at Pleasant and Oak Park Ave, run east on Pleasant to Lombard, south on Lombard to Van Buren, then west on Van Buren to Oak Park Ave and back north to the start.
A little more complicated but spells “TO” for “Team Owen.”
