About Salmonberry Corridor Fundraiser & Listening Tour

I am undertaking a solo two-week walk from Banks, Oregon toward Oregon's North Coast as the inaugural field phase of the Salmonberry Corridor Fundraiser & Listening Tour.

This initiative aims to increase visibility, practicality, and community engagement for the proposed Salmonberry Trail corridor. Throughout the journey, I will document accessible public routes, conduct listening sessions with local communities, visit agricultural operations and food-system partners, and demonstrate how trail infrastructure can strengthen rural economies, improve local food access, promote environmental stewardship, and foster long-term community connections.

For transparency, this is an independent, solo endeavor. I will not access or traverse any unopened or restricted segments of the proposed Salmonberry Trail rail-to-trail corridor. My route will exclusively utilize legal public roads, sidewalks, established trails, public transit, and shuttle services as necessary for safety.

While I am walking this initial segment independently, you can support this mission by contributing to three aligned organizations that embody the corridor's core values:

North Tillamook County Food Bank
(Supports food security in coastal communities):

Trailkeepers of Oregon
(Advocates for trail stewardship and volunteer engagement):

Community Action of Washington County
(Provides essential services addressing poverty and community resilience):

This two-week solo walk represents just the beginning. A comprehensive three-month Listening Tour will follow, featuring in-depth conversations with farms, municipalities, trail advocates, community organizations, and local stakeholders throughout the Salmonberry corridor.

Walk. Listen. Document. Connect.
