Sandwich Fair Shake Up Shuffle

Following a sold out second event, the Sandwich Fair Association is thrilled to announce the Third Annual Shake Up Shuffle, happening on Labor Day, September 7, 2026.

Designed with the entire family in mind, the Shake Up Shuffle will once again host two race distances, with special child pricing available on both routes.

Both routes begin on our infield track, wind through our iconic grounds, and finish back on the infield for a post race celebration, where the fun continues with music, games, and appearances from local businesses.

Following the race, registered participants receive top finisher awards, complimentary refreshments, and an ICE COLD Lemonade Shake Up from McKinney's Concessions.

All participants also receive a Shake Up Shuffle shirt, a timed race bib with finishers results, and a collectable Shake Up Shuffle finishers medal with registration.

Finally, participants registered for our full race route will additionally receive a FIVE DAY SANDWICH FAIR SEASON PASS.

And the fun doesn’t stop there.

The first two hundred registered participants, ages six and older, will once again receive our crowd favorite Shake Up Shuffle Swag Bag.

PLUS, runners who register for the full route will receive discounted pricing through May 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM CST. 

Whether you run it, walk it, shake it, or shuffle it, we just can't wait to see you there.

Proceeds support the Shake Up Shuffle Grant Fund, providing funds to eligible DeKalb County nonprofit organizations through the DeKalb County Community Foundation.

Question: Can I volunteer?

Answer: Yes. We are looking for volunteers for our event. If you or your organization are interested in volunteering at the Shake Up Shuffle, please submit a contact form on our page, or email us at shakeupshuffle@gmail.com. 

Question: Can my business become a sponsor or partner?

Answer: Yes. We have a variety of sponsorship and partnership opportunities available to businesses of all sizes. Please submit a form on our contact page to get in touch with someone on our team. 

Question: Will you provide a bag check?

Answer: Yes. Bag check will be available at packet pickup. Items will remain supervised throughout the duration of events, however, neither the Shake Up Shuffle nor the Sandwich Fair Association, Inc. can claim responsibility for any lost or damaged items. 

Question: Can I bring a stroller or wagon?

Answer: Yes. Strollers and wagons are permitted for both races, however, we ask that anyone walking with a stroller or wagon please line up near the back of the start line in order to ensure the safety of our runners. Running strollers are welcome in our runner line up.

Question: Will spectators be allowed?

Answer: Yes. We hope to see your loved ones joining us on the start and finish line to cheer you on. We will have bleacher seating available on our start and finish line for spectators.

Question: Can I bring my pet?

Answer: Unfortunately, for the safety of all participants, pets are not permitted at our event. Registered service animals providing a service to any participant or spectator are allowed. 

Question: Do I have to run?

Answer: We hope that you will take either course at the pace that works best for you. We cannot wait to see you Run It, Walk It, Shake It, or Shuffle It across our finish line. 

Question: Will there be water stations?

Answer: Yes. Two water stations will be available on our 5K course and one water station will be available on our 1M course and are presented by Zen IV Lounge.

Question: What awards will you be giving out? What does "top finisher" awards mean?

Answer: All participants will receive a custom, Shake Up Shuffle finishers medal on our finish line. Custom Shake Up Shuffle trophies will be awarded to the top three overall male and the top three overall female winners from both events. An additional age group award will be awarded to the top three male and female participants in each of the following categories from our 5K event:

Ages 12 and Under

Ages 13-15

Ages 16-19

Ages 20-24

Ages 25-29

Ages 30-39

Ages 40-49

Ages 50-64

Ages 65 and Older

We are unable to hold or ship awards to those who are not present at our awards ceremony.

Important: All participants must enter through the Suydam Road entrance only. The Pratt Road entrance will be closed during the event as it is part of the race course.
